sometimes to start something new, you need to be bare boned and totally vulnerable. you need to have been kicked and bruised to feel a sense of renewal. let’s face it, we’ve all felt this way. we’ve all felt like our entire existential existence was coming to a catastrophic end right before our eyes, and when we thought it couldn’t get worse, the universe was like “ha! fuck you, here’s another dose of your worst nightmare coming to life.” and you sit, you wait for the debris to fall and the dust to settle. and after all the commotion, you can say to yourself, regardless of anything else, “wow. i’m still here.” touch your chest (not in a fondling way, perves) and just feel that beat. feel the way your heart pumps blood and the way your diaphragm takes in and releases air. you are still here, and that makes you one of the lucky ones. no matter if this is the worst minute, hour, day or year of your life, you’re here. you survived the fucked scenario of life and the inhumane world that we live in. i don’t know about you, but i’ve totally thought about how much better life would be if i was a golden retriever. i didn’t ask to be a 23 year old woman with thunder thighs and no boobs, semi employed living in my parents basement waiting for my life to materialize into something that makes more sense than what i have been doing here. but alas, i am here, i am me, and i’ll be damned if this is the best i can do. so here it is, on your world ending. and here’s a secret i’m finally beginning to accept. it’s not ending. you’re okay.
