I tried to watch a video of Markiplier playing The Stanley Parable, and I had to turn it off because he was being so obnoxious. Does he always act like the poster child for the hazards of drinking too many redbulls or did I just catch a strange video?

Much like many of his fellow humans, Markiplier has a remarkable range of emotions and potential reactions. So, no, he does not always display one specific facet of his personality in every video he makes.

The Stanley Parable is a unique game with unique gameplay, and it rather lends itself to exaggerated reactions. There’s a certain comedic element, I think, in playing off the narrator.

Markiplier’s style of let’s-play does often tend toward loud, energetic reactions, but that’s certainly not his only setting. If you look through some of his vlogs, collabs, and live-action videos, that becomes clear fairly quickly.

All that said, I recognize that everyone can’t like everything, so perhaps he’s not your cup of tea. But no, you can’t really get a feel for him based on a single video.

how is someone asking why you are dressed up "misogyny"???

because women are overly scrutinized in what we wear - i never hear my male coworkers told this kind of stuff even when they do dress up (and most of the time they don’t, but on rare occasion I have seen it happen, and they don’t get the same kind of comments)

it’s just a microaggression - it’s not like the worst thing ever - doing it doesn’t mean someone rabidly hates women - it’s just one of those small things part of a larger framework that reinforces the fact women’s appearance is emphasized much more than men’s
