Isaac would rather let his mind wander inward, the way it often did when he was little, then be dealing with the bullies he was facing just walking to lunch. But he did his best to bite his tongue and endure, even though there were voices in his head who were conflicting with him and each other. Show them friendship! Show them your fist! Show them to the grave!
Eventually, he made it to lunch, and the kids broke away form him, more interested in food than picking on his any further; What’s fun about bullying a kid who doesn’t react? At least Isaac brings his own lunch, and doesn’t have to stand in a line. Choosing an empty table in the back of the cafeteria, Isaac decided to eat him sandwich while drawing, though his mind was caught in a sort of haze. He could feel himself drifting back.
The basement is burning… The smog is suffocating… The spider bites, the gore, the tears… Put the toothpicks in your eyes, gamble your fate, take a bite of a heart to save your own…
He was pulled out of his head when he heard a lunch tray clack onto the table in front of him, and he looked up to see a blue-haired girl sit across the table, a confused look sweeping across his features.
He glanced around for a moment, shutting his sketchbook and wrapping one arm around himself tightly.
