Elizabeth Campbell: Activity Check: Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw was no more a perfect fit for Elizabeth than any other house was for any other student: it came with its own issues and unconventionalities. Sometimes she wondered why she hadn't ended up in Gryffindor and, often, peers who encountered her brash side wondered the same. The blonde chaffed under the stiff social regimen and started more than a few disagreements as a result. Sometimes she wondered why she'd gone to Hogwarts at all.
(Her family's library was, afterall, extensive enough for her to have taught herself with mild supervision. It would have been easier.)
But the fact of the matter was, no matter how highly she valued action, Elizabeth held knowledge at a much higher standard. It was the foundation of her world and the sky soaring above it--her roots and her future.
"Such a brave one..." The hat murmured, voice husky with interest. "Idiotically so, mmm?"
She said nothing, well aware that it knew more than she did.
"But bright as well." For a moment, it paused and she could almost feel its fingers sifting through what made her Elizabeth Campbell. "Hungry for knowledge that you don't always use... for the golden facts. Hmm..."
It was more than facts, though. It was lore and myth and history. It was fairytales and stories and lies.
"So trusting, aren't you?"
Finally, she let out a small sound--a laugh: high and ringing sharp.
This time, the hat was the one to not answer and several seconds ticked by in quiet--the only sounds coming from the grumbling second-through-seventh-years. Then...
"Well aren't you just a difficult little witch..." in her mind and "Ravenclaw!" in the air.
Elizabeth was actually fairly easy to place at least compared to Lisa... ugh..
It's about more than her wit, though. Yes, Elizabeth is all about knowledge and understanding, but like a lot of other Ravenclaws, she focuses on strategy.
To explain further, Elizabeth ends up in a lot of situations she can't plan for because she Hunts; it's to be expected and doesn't bother her too much. But if she can walk in with a plan, with a strategy and an idea, she's much more comfortable.
And besides that, she's damn competitive in the information business. Maybe not to the extent where she'd stab someone in the back over it, but she definitely takes pride in it. Be it languages, lore, or just every-day information, Elizabeth wants to know as much as possible.
