This part started out EXTREMELY cool. with the exile and the military haircut and everything. when Coriolanus shows up in that basement and Lucy is singing. HOLY SHIT. Like, they really hit the chemistry jackpot. She's so ridiculously charismatic. and hot. I'm completely sold on her bursting into spontaneous singing and charming everyone she meets. I can't believe how much I'm enjoying this. Coriolanus sort of reluctantly nodding along to the beat is me who went from "ugh singing cringe" to "wow fuck she's HOT." they had A+ eyefucking while she was on stage also

I'm completely totally sold on them starting up a relationship but I really ???? don't understand what went down with the weapons and the murder and her running away etc etc etc. Like. it's extremely flimsy. why would she care who he's killed. I think in general there could have been sooo many better ways to have their relationship implode (when he talks about going back to the Capitol like it's a paradise etc — that was a possibility!). I can also see why he'd stard randomly shooting at her shadows in the forest after he blew up his life to get with her... "I killed my old self so I could have you..." so corny and frankly. ship dynamic of all time. I can see why he would flip out being abandoned it's lowkey giving anidala

But. the entire breakdown / ending is so contrived and like they were trying to hit a wordcount. in general I expected more from their interactions after they left the arena. it think it could have been done SO much better.

Unfortunately. the fact that it could have been done so much better is exactly what compels me to get in there and fix it. wow. new fandom fr @avocado-moon YOU WERE RIGHT

every time katniss talks about rue in district 11 i cry like literally every time "she was too young too gentle and i couldn't save her. i'm sorry" like just knowing that katniss 100% would have pulled rue through to the end and then sacrificed herself so rue could go home.......... that she sees rue in her sister and the meadow by her house. and hears her in the mockingjays..... i'm sorry katniss. i would have done the same

literally howww is everyone so unfair to katniss. its been said but she doesnt deserve the ya protag treatment shes complex n flawed and shes weak!! and she doesnt trust people!! shes brave and selfish and afraid!! she is my everything girl.also

i still haven’t read the ballad of songbirds and snakes, but in rereading the trilogy i’m reminded at how well-developed and thought out this entire world is. and its not that i don’t believe the flood of negative reviews about the prequel. but i find it a little hard to fathom that the same woman that was capable of writing the trilogy, could write a prequel so harshly received. i have a feeling time will be kind to it as it has been kind to thg, but i guess... time will tell..
