omg YESSSS ok full disclosure i love talking about exercise so i WILL take this answer way too far but i have a few ab workouts that i do and i'm still kind of adjusting some of them and i'm still getting used to being back in the gym after a long break because of covid!!!
so the ab workout i was talking about that i used to do my freshman year is basically part of my typical upper body workout routine, and i kind of adjust it based on what i want to train but this is kind of my staple workout and the one i (used to) do most often, its my favorite workout and it makes me so happy haha
so first i do like 30-40 minutes of cardio, i usually do either the stairmaster or intervals the elliptical (currently im doing like 20-30 mins because im trying to work up to my old levels but that's what generally i aim for)
and then i do a circut with free weights!
10 reps bicep curl/shoulder press
15 reps leg raises with a reverse crunch (this is what killed me i believe lol) (i do this on the bench and i hold on to the bench above my head for more stability -- it's also important to be sure you're moving with control and protecting your back in this exercise)
10 reps each side bent over row
15 reps each side dumbell side bend for obliques
and then i repeat that three times!!
and then after that i do my four minute plank, which is one minute front plank, one minute each side for side plank, and then finish with one more minute of front plank! i finish all my workouts this way no matter what i'm training that day :)
i don't like training legs (who does lol) but when i do want to do more legs i usually just change up my circut to have more legs and glutes. and i also change up the upper body exercises too, so i have an arm circut that's a little different too or i just swap out some of the exercises for other ones if i want to work triceps or chest or something else.
i've had periods of lifting really heavy and other periods where i've been doing not much other than light walks and yoga, but whenever i'm released to be totally free in the gym without a trainer or a coach or anything this is the routine i tend to stick to because it's easy and adjustable based on how i'm feeling and what i want to do.
AHHHHH i told you i would go on and on for way too long but i love working out and i love talking about working out and health and wellness and all that stuff and skskjdhfaksjdh yeah that's a really basic rundown of what i like to do HAHA!
