lukewarm take: beard is not a father figure to Jamie in any way. At every singly point in any part of the show he was dismissive if not borderline degrading towards Jamie. Yes he kicked his father out and got into a fight with him later on, but I don’t think he did it for Jamie. I think he did it for the adrenaline and because he’s generally a person who won’t let himself get beaten down that way. There was not a single part of the show where he was genuinely kind to Jamie or had a positive conversation with him or about him. I have no idea where the people are coming from who claim that he is fatherly towards Jamie.
