Open letter to my followers

Hello to the 480 people who follow me for some reason (most probably because of Downton Abbey or Holby City).

I have a small request to make. Tumblr is a powerful communication tool, spreading information about all sorts of things and unifying when the world wants to divide us.

My political posts are few and far between, but I write them to be shared. To encourage, to inspire, and to help those who might be new and confused about what the hell is going on, and how their voice can possibly be heard amongst so many.

Most of my followers share my posts, and so I hereby askyou to share the political ones too, in amongst the Emma Thompson spam, the art, the 100th reblog of Serena Campbell kissing Bernie Wolfe or a certain butler and housekeeper swaying in an embrace.

Maybe it’s because there’s so many american followers here, that you think sharing British politics doesn’t apply  I can assure you it does. Just as we Brits want to promote the decent messages within the American system, so to do I hope that the reverse is true. We are all in this together, shouldn’t we want to share the knowledge that will help us all fight back?

So here is my plea - reblog the political posts you see, not just from me, even if you think they don’t apply to you. I can assure you that they’ll be relevant for at least one of your followers.

Okay, maybe this is just me, but i am so tired and bored of people who only have dark and edgy responses to EVERYTHING. i like dark and edgy humor as much everyone else, but if all your responses and jokes are dark and edgy? That's not healthy. And it also becomes less funny.

When you spill milk and go nothing in life matters anyway? That's funny.

If you have the same response for every situation and incident and issue? That's unhealthy. It's depressing. And i get that it's your coping mechanism or something. But does being nihilistic about everything actually work or did it work that one time and now it's just your default mode?

Like add some variety. Be cryptic. Say stuff that makes absolutely zero fucking sense. Tell them the first thought that pops into your head. Talk in weird accents. Have some zest.

If being nihilistic is your entire personality, that's just boring.

Everything Matters

I saved a bug from being killed at lunch and they asked me why. I told them that the creature didn't do anything to deserve to be tortured or killed, it was just simply existing and stumbled upon us. People never actually think of it, but this insect is trying to find food and shelter while you're trying to freeze it with an ice cube. Do you not see how twisted your actions are to even the smallest thing? It doesn't stop there either, when you're killing animals or destroying inanimate objects. The only excuse for killing an animal is if you need food or if they attack you and you did it out of self defense. I still hate it then but that's how the world works. You may think destroying something like a wooden table or tearing a book is nothing, but what about the creator of these objects. They poured their heart and soul in them to be used properly and not destroyed by your hands. Respect things more than just people.
