Things I am thankful for; my financial privilege. The fresh & healthy produce I am able to afford, to be able to eat out with friends where my worries are forgotten entirely for a few hours. The plane tickets I am able to buy to play my music in other states, the privilege of living in such a beautiful, nature filled city. Money does not buy happiness but it sure does help.

Counting all my blessings.

I have had a particularly bad day, yesterday. I had taken an interview for a big regulator and the results came in yesterday. I could not make it. Again. I got a hunch right in the middle of the interview, that they don’t seem inclined and still i was hoping against all odds to make it. Having an idea is one thing but knowing for sure is a whole another story.

Anywho, just minutes ago, it hit me, may be i should rather be counting my blessings. Things I am thankful for. 

So, here it goes. 

1. Incredible incredible parents. Their health. 

2. Our house. Along with all the trees housing numerous birds and chameleons. 

3. My room. The window. The view. And of course the weather. 

4. The poorly paying but widely interesting job as a practicing advocate in my city that also permits me to be able to live with my parents.

5. Having a schedule because I can’t be late to the court.

6. Soul sister, who despite being super busy, makes out time to talk and be around.

7. Friends who, near or far, have always made sure I got up again on my own two feet. 

8. The beautiful city that beloved Jaipur is. It’s ever so increasing cafes and eateries. 

9. FOOD. Good food. Lot’s of it. 

10. And Coffee. Duh?!

Things I could think of so far. Off I go, Can’t be late for the Court. 

FYI, Government job are big shit here in India. Also, most of us do live with our parents. It is THE right thing in our culture.

Things I'm thankful for today. Part 2.

The internet and it's never ending capacity to amaze.  I'm a guy who looks at limitations a lot. It seems like with each passing day the internet is changing the way we perceive things. What would I do without the intelligent validation at Quora. Where people are telling me I'm fun and insightful. (Who me?) I can listen to songs on Youtube and read reviews of books on goodreads. I can capitulate to the call of cat memes and be scared for my future on TopCoder. I can escape from the humdrum reality and walk down memory lane by stalking exes on facebook. I can pump up my grades by accessing courses from the best universities around the world.  Even now at this very moment, the internet satisfies my pointless need to globalize every emotion I've ever had. Stop being such a doormat internet! I guess the fundamental key here is accessibility. A world where all things are accessible is a world where people are empowered. And that idea, right there is insanely cool.
