—Part 6: Radio's Last Broadcast

anyways I really don't have too much of the Garcias' KPop Demon Hunter verse planned out (I still need to watch the fucking movie, which i will tomorrow lmao), but this is what I got so far

it's a whole family affair. the siblings are half demons, and Gabe is a demon who fell in love with a human (Lydia), who died , as is canon, so now he's just trying to keep his kids alive (that's all he's trying to do. keep the kids alive.). Since he's the only one whose fully demon, he still feeds souls to Gwi Ma - there's kind of an unspoken agreement that as long as he keeps doing his due diligence, his children will be spared. So far it's worked, but the longer he's on earth, the longer his conscious eats away at him.

Angelo unfortunately become a by product of that conscious eating away at him, and is now trapped in the demon world being held as a hostage until Gabe can get more souls to Gwi Ma's liking. Gabe's not happy about it, Angelo isn't happy about it- no one's happy about it. Trevor is unaware - for all they know, their big brother is out there scouting out more avenues for them to tour on.

Veronika works in tandem with Gabe as a co manager of Trevor - she does know the whole gist about her father and Angelo's being held hostage, so she and Gabe plan on uh...more tours for Trevor to go on so they can harvest more souls. Trevor is completely in the dark about this, and honestly, they all feel bad about keeping them in the dark, but sometimes there's a lesser of two evils.

and then you got this ray of sunshine who just thinks they're accomplishing their goal of being a cool country star! nothing traumatic at all hahahaha!

Thinking about how much of a shit-kicker Esmé is going to be as a reaper (in Karma's verse).

Like he's obviously going to do what's expected of him and exceed expectations because he's programmed that way,

but he's also going to make Theodora regret making him a reaper because he can be the most infuriating being alive if he wants to.

(This is a man who 100% would sing I'm Henry VIIIth, I am I am to Theodora if it would annoy the fuck out of her, a la Ghost.)

Which is really a roundabout way of saying that Esmé takes after his great grandfather (and namesake) in that he is mischievous ... but otherwise never gets to show it.

The RVT and Explorers are similar in this arc in that both groups are currently split and their respective members are acting separately but while we know that the RVT will eventually come back together more united than ever and that they are all working towards a common goal, I wonder if the same thing will happen to the Explorers...

I feel like this current arc is starting to put cracks in their group and highlights that some of them have their own motivations which aren't necessarily compatible with the main goal of the organization (Spinel seemingly having his own separate agenda, Agate having her own thoughts, etc), so I wonder if they'll really stay together going forward..
