brainscrambled by the past and the future...

so I found this poem I wrote soon after starting out reading the aubreyad, sort of my best ideas on the way passing those books around feels like a family tradition I half don’t feel that I’m supposed to participate in, and about family and gender and all manner of stuff, and it’s just so strange revisiting that now.  the last conversation I ever had with my granddad was about the books, a few weeks after writing that poem.  I mentioned I’d started reading the first book, we chatted for a few minutes about them, I wished him well, and passed the phone to someone else.  he died very soon after.  I kept reading.  and today, I found what I’d written about it, and in some strange way, I feel a little better about it all.  hm, I think I’ll write it a new ending.
