i'm on a 'White Collar' kick so i have some feelings. one thing that 'bothers' me is that all through the last episode it feels like Neal is like openly saying his goodbyes. like it really sticks out when he talks to June who's sitting with Mozzie and she mentions the thrift shop. like it feels very 'reminiscing before death', and the way he says 'i love you' with that big hug at the door.

then, right after, he gives Mozzie the Queen from their fist meeting. it's very 'giving away beloved possessions' and he says something about 'going back to the basics' like he's going to be starting fresh.

and when he's having dinner with Peter and El. and he says 'i'll stop at nothing...' and the prolonged eye contact. it just all feels like 'this is the last time i'm going to see these people.'

idk if this was intentional or not, but. when Julie first opens the studio doors a gust of wind rushes out. i wonder if that was meant to symbolize something like 'the Studio, had held its breath for a year, waiting for Rose or Julie or even Carlos to come back. now that Julie has come back it can breathe; be useful again.'

watching Julie and the Phantoms again and i love how the wardrobe looks very '90's without feeling 'dated'. it's a fine line that the wardrobe person walked brilliantly. 

also love that almost every time Julie was with the boys she was wearing some purple. i mean, Caleb was also in a lot of purple but i feel like Julie’s was a softer shade most of the time. it shows the contrast in how they interacted with the boys. Julie was very soft/gentle/kind whereas Caleb was harsh/uncaring/only looking out for himself. 

idk, i have some thoughts on the wardrobe, i guess...

Thinky Thursday

What would happen if everyone read for fun? I think about this a lot. Like…a lot. And honestly, I'm not really sure. Would the planet be cleaner? More imaginable? Would little kids grow up being appreciated instead of forced into the strictest of six-sided boxes? Would we all meet in the street and start talking about the newest sic-fi novel or history textbook? Just imagine, what if instead of Walmarts with books, there were Barnes & Nobles with groceries, and your best friend 'really can't hang out today' because he has to stay at home to finish the last few pages of this new really cool dystopian novel that he cannot physically put down long enough to leave his room. But then, I also think that if everyone read then surely reading wouldn't be as fun. Who could you recommend your favorite novel to if the whole world was just as excited to read it as you were? Why would book-to-movie adaptations be such a huge deal for the fandom if that fandom was 90% of the earth's population? So maybe it's a good thing that not everyone reads for fun. After all, half the fun of it is being an outcast.
