Finally got somewhat my thirst designs down, at least for the women, so i need this out in the world for peace in my brain. (Ignore Anouk's name being wrong lol, i didn't know it was written like that)

okay of all the actors i was thinking ‘will i be able to listen to them in thirst and not hear them as juno steel characters’ i dont think alexander stravinski was one i was particularly worried about and yet i keep hearing him and thinking of jet. doesnt help that cruz was calling him jed which is a letter off

I need to say I adore the way Al (The Algorithm) is handled in Thirst so far. It feels like a tool that is functioning exactly the way it was made to and comes with the imperfections and biases of the people who made it rather than being artificial intelligence gone wrong due to it gaining self awareness or the initial purpose of a piece of technology being twisted for evil? Which I appreciate because I think those are tired tropes that shift the blame away from the people who uncritically push generative AI or harmful technological practices.

My absolute favourite part of the podcast that demonstrates this is when Raine asks the algorithm for medicine for her tick bite after she starts showing symptoms of lyme disease, and it gives her alcohol instead of antibiotics. The algorithm has access to a very extensive bank of historical data and it shows that humans used alcohol to treat certain things for thousands of years, so it erroneously determines that alcohol being used for longer than antibiotics have makes it the better treatment despite antibiotics being far better, and despite alcohol actually being something that can exacerbate the symptoms of Lyme disease when ingested, which is how Raine was using it,

So, I went to bandcamp to listen to the full version of cant tear my eyes from you and

So... These are the elimination methods.. And Raine's sickness is here too. But who is going to be exploded by fireworks? Who's going to fall from a great height? and whose heart is going to burst?

The fireworks - it feels very... Valentina, doesn't it? With her history in extreme stunts, it Seems feasible

Falling down - the only one I can think of right now is Murdoch with all the tree climbing last episode

The heart one could be a legitimate heart attack - my first thought was Taylor and his tendency to freak out

Much to think about..... just throwing this one into the void
