HBO'S 'ROME'

It has come to my attention that many of you have not seen the fucking fabulous show ROME. ⤵️

Celebrity guest voice casting in cartoons is often a little odd but I’m particularly struck by the oddity of casting Brad Pitt as Boomhauer’s scallywag brother Patch. Like, it’s a joke about Boomhauer’s Informed Attribute of being ostensibly a very attractive man (at least by the community standards of Arlen), but it’s also just really weird to be conscious that I’m listening to Brad Pitt, Major Movie Actor And Ostensibly Hottest Man Alive Which I Have Never Been Able To See With My Own Eyes So Go Figure, do a Boomhauer impression.

At one point he does an impression of Hank through his Boomhauer impression and it’s kind of uncanny.

I think the Boomhauer voice is really incredibly clever on Mike Judge’s part for the way it perfectly mixes sounding unintelligible with actually being just intelligible enough.

#airy's still watching king of the hill #they made thirteen seasons!#thirteen!#nothing's going to be solid gold through thirteen seasons but damn that's an impressive output #thirteen seasons of i tell you hwhat #shows today get hardly any time to just dick around and have some middling-quality episodes without it feeling like a failure #and it's to their overall detriment #on the other hand the simpsons needs to be stopped that is just excessive #like maybe if star trek: picard had had some breathing-room low-impact episodes to explore character it wouldn't have sucked so hard #just kidding it still would have sucked because the plot was nonsensical rubbish #I'm not letting this go
