Henry arrived at the barber's that morning with one purpose in mind: to get his damn beard shaved off. Hans had had his fun with it, and Henry too as a matter of fact, but it was getting too long and irritating for him to stand it any longer. He sat at the stool confidently.
"Just a shave today, barber."
"Sorry, Henry," the barber sighed, setting down his razor and shaking his head sympathetically, "no service for you."
Henry frowned, "what? Why not?"
"I've been paid," the barber said with a smug grin on his face, "handsomely. Not to serve you, that is."
"By who?" Henry asked as if he didn't already know. The barber wasn't that stupid, anyway; he understood the benefits to keeping his mouth shut.
"How should I know? They didn't leave a name."
Henry rolled his eyes, wasting no more time sitting at the barber's stool as he headed directly to the bedroom he shared with Sir Hans.
"Oh no..." Hans tilted his head in mock sympathy as Henry entered the bedroom; his expression was forlorn and he shut his book, focusing his attention on Henry. He pouted, "what happened?"
Luckily, Henry was prepared. He coyly made his way over to his own bed and sat down, stretching, "his tools were stolen."
"That is a shame," Hans said with finality, tutting as he opened his book once more, "looks like you're going to have to put it up with it then."
"Aye, looks like it," Henry narrowed his eyes in Hans' direction, rubbing his itchy beard for show, "it's a shame, though."
Hans glanced at him out of hte corner of his eye, "what is?"
"Well, it's just so uncomfortable I don't see how I'll ever kiss anyone again," Henry explained, hoping he didn't look as smug as he felt as he watched Hans' eyes widen in horror, "let alone anymore...rigorous activities I might do with my mouth."
Henry let out another sad sigh, reclining on his bed as he began to count backwards in his head from five. He barely made it to two before he heard Hans snap his book shut and leap off of his bed.
"We're going to the Kingfisher."
Henry smiled triumphantly, raising himself from the bed and nodding obediently, "as his lordship commands."
