Felt like I needed to share my experience as well

I was just remembering, there was an episode of M*A*S*H in which the weather was nice and nobody was actively dying in the vicinity for a while so Hawkeye and BJ were sitting out in deckchairs with a radio playing a popular song of the time, “Rag Mop,” enjoying the sunshine. Charles happens by and gets offended both by the loud, boppy music and by the spelling in the lyrics (R-A-G-G M-O-P-P).

And it hit me… it was so early in the 50s that rock’n’roll hadn’t taken off yet. They didn’t even have rock music to be obnoxious to fuddy-duddies with. And Charles may have survived Korea, but I bet Elvis Presley damn near killed him.
