Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard - they don’t have to be “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag ten friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know that you’ve tagged them.
Harry Potter because let's just get the obvious out of the way. It was so much a part of my childhood that it's helped shape me as a person.
Ella Enchanted for a few reasons. I read this book during a time in my life where academics and the like were very hard for me. I read this book as part of a reading competition my school and nearby schools held. My team placed second because of the answer I gave about this book. It was also really great to read.
The Giver followed me throughout my school career. I've read this book no less than three times as a classroom book. I hated it at first but now it's one of my favorites.
Freak the Mighty hits close to home for me as well as being an amazingly touching story of two misfit boys.
Bridge to Terabithia as a movie can go fuck itself. The book deserved better than that. It's a great story, pay no attention to that movie.
I Have Lived a Thousand Years is a story about a young girl surviving the camps during WWII and it's nothing short of amazing.
Singer in the Snow is beautifully written and has a very unique story and world. I wish I could get my hands on the rest of the series but they're out of print and hard to find.
Destiny Kills is about a lady who turns into a dragon and goes on a quest to save her family. Honestly, what more could you want?
Holes is another book that was not given justice in movie form imo. Unlike BtT I can't put my finger on why I didn't like the movie. I just didn't feel right.
Hyrule Historia was everything I ever dreamed of and more.
