If anyone would ask him who he’d trust more between Shuichi and Maki, his guts definitely would rather believe the words from the kind detective rather than the ones from the Ultimate Assassin. However, he was an experienced liar, and ever since Shuichi told him what had happened after he died, he had some doubts about some certain things. Everything became even more questionable, once Maki told what she knew. According to Shuichi’s story, the mastermind of the cruel game they were forced to play, was a total stranger to him; Junko Enoshima. But Maki said, that it was someone they knew very well; Tsumugi Shirogane. 

“Yo, Saihara-chan...” He called for his attention in a calm voice, it almost sounded too calm for the glare he gave him. “I have a question for ya, you surely don’t mind, do you? Remember our little conversation from not too long ago? How about you tell me more about Junko Enoshima, or is she just some random person you made up to hide the truth from me? Maaan, you really thought your lousy lie would make sense in the end, huh? If you won’t confess now, even I will be disappointed by your lousy attempt, y’know.”
