This Home

My room is so cold my breath lingers In front of my face when I breathe out Slow. My fingers are like ice -  Stiff, blue, showing little signs Of life. My body trembles with large shivers That start at the base of my spine, And travel like a spider Up my frozen frame. Stranger's voices echo up the stairs, Lights flick on And then off. Footsteps, laughs, hollow sounds, The roar of the fire from downstairs, Then the hum of the television. The silhouettes that inhabit this house Have found the warmth, Leaving me with the frost.  This home,  Is not where my heart is. This house, Cannot be my home. This house, Is not a home. It's just a building, Surrounded by identical others.
