I miss college.
I’ve come to realize that when I was younger and dad put me on ‘lockdown’, that I would do anything just short of smoke signals to contact people. The threshold was different every time but here is a non-exhaustive list of ways I would talk to people;
Use a Google Doc with colored text to denote who was talking (good for groups)
Email from an account he didn’t have the login for
Send messages through the titles of songs in the Spotify “now listening” feature
Snuck out at 11 pm, walked 3 miles to Wendy’s to ask an employee to borrow a phone, hitchhiked home
Shared Google Calendar event and typing in the description
Pinterest board and adding different quotes to send messages
Simply Plural custom status descriptions
Telephoning messages through friends
Finding his old phone, hiding it, and making it a burner
Trello
Editing the description of a shared playlist (spotify and youtube)
Quizlet set description edits
*plays animal jam* this is a coping mechanism
I wish I had enough money to support myself
My mom ws screaming at my cat that was meowing and my guard went up so fast when she said “come here, i’ll show you” and i almost instantly wanted to cry as a reaction:)
