with a great sigh laxus leaned down onto the wooden table of the guild hall. truly, he looked pitiful but for once—he felt he was deserving of it. “ever, i regret to inform you that something terrible has happened.”

he sighed once more. it happened this morning, before he left and he hasn’t seen ever yet today. bixlow and freed, however, were there when he found out. “my headphones broke. i have to get new ones.” truly, he was in the depths of despair.

when one of our interns started this spring, he was so quiet that the entire senior staff was very worried about him not making friends or being interested in his projects/generally having a bad time, but he ended up becoming one of my favourite coworkers and we hired him for the summer! for the last couple of months, he’s been organizing movie nights and other outings outside of work for staff and interns! 

i told him a while ago that he should take a break at the end of summer rather than work until the last minute before school starts again, and he was going to go home, but last week he told me he doesn’t want to leave the city--doesn’t even want to finish the last year of his BA--because he likes new york and the museum so much. we talked about him commuting from the city since his college isn’t TOO far away and he would be writing a thesis or capstone project anyway. 

i really hope he at least finishes his program, but either way i’m so proud of him for growing into this wonderful, super-engaged and passionate person!!!
