pressed anon's new argument doesn't hold water--this is not a problem (if you want to call it a problem) unique to blake being on the cusp of a relationship with yang. every one of the main characters have had periods where they have had less focus due to sharing the spotlight with each other and other characters. yang in volume 1? next to nothing there. did weiss have any significant character development in volume 6? even ruby took a backseat for a lot of volumes 4 and 5. i would even argue that what anon is whining about is actually a side-effect of how fucking packed with side characters volumes 7 and 8 were. none of the main characters got nearly as much character development as winter, penny, ironwood, qrow, and even ren and nora. i actually do agree that rwby really has had issues with how the narrative economy affected our main four characters over the past two volumes, but i'm not stupid or salty enough to claim that it's the fault of a ship that maybe had 15 minutes of screentime max for the past two volumes. i'll also point out that anon also didn't address what kind of character development they even would have wanted for blake outside of being more herself in volumes 7 and 8. because here's what they actually want: for bumbleby not to happen. but it is happening. and no matter how hard anon tries to whine about it, the notion that blake has been "reduced to a love interest" is a bad-faith characterization of what is happening here, and it sells blake's personal emotional growth short. she was far from a place of opening up even to her friends at the start. now she is actively giving advice informed by her past--again, we see it with ruby and with nora. she was also had her ability to trust destroyed by a past romantic partner. now she is opening up to a new one, learning that she can be vulnerable and accepted and listened to (see the volume 7 truck conversation with yang where yang listens to blake's opinions and chooses blake's suggested course of action).

i'm not sending this to argue directly with your salty anon. they're obviously so entrenched in their beliefs that my words aren't going to make a difference. my audience is for other people to see how shitty their arguments have been. here's the short of hit: anon is looking to demonize a ship by relying on the side-effects of the show's narrative economy. in the processm they are underselling signs of blake's actual development. they're the one reducing blake to yang's love interest. not the show.

Blaaaah

So, recently I’ve been having a lot emotional outbursts(crying :/), and it’s making me feel like shit, especially because I’m not completely fitting the intp stereotype that mind just tends to impose upon me. This shouldn’t be the case, seeing as these reactions are just outliers in my overall behavior. I’m just beating myself up over it though, and just can’t stop being pissed at myself for expressing myself. It’s really stupid, I should be happy that I’m even expressing something, but noooo.
