Noel’s just standing there, borderline crying while chain-depositing shortbread cookies into her face.
“These cookies are so good.”

God Bless the Broken Road; [Open]
If anyone had stopped and asked Sam to give him a ride at that moment, chances were he would've said no.
However, no one was going to stop for him. The only thing the 19 year old had on him was his wallet. No backpack, no duffel bag. Nothing. Despite the fact that he was walking down the side of the highway, the kid had nothing to his name.
Why? Well, that was the biggest part of the reason Sam wouldn't have accepted a ride from anyone. It was 2014. Eight years froward in time from where Sam was supposed to be. Where he had been.
The events of his day - had it even been a day? - had been a big mess. Some guy with strawberry blonde hair, and a moustache of a completely different color had told him to trust him. Told him that it was better this way. Told him that if he could, he'd thank him later.
But, as Sam meandered down the highway in the middle of nowhere, he couldn't imagine one reason why he'd thank him. You see, since his sudden shift, Sam had been nearly committed, on a bus for 5 hours, and left in the middle of flat, blank, nowhere Kansas hoping to maybe find someone that he knew.
It was the best shot he had. Dean would probably be in Kansas, right? Or maybe their dad? Maybe he shouldn't have paid all that money for a bus ticket to Kansas. Maybe he should've gone to Sioux Falls and shown up on Bobby's doorstep. Surely that old man would know exactly what to do, or how to contact his family.
As that thought ran through his head, Sam went off on the tangent of possibilities. Dean and John probably thought he was dead, or worse: cutting them off. Sure, he'd been pissed when he left for college... But, he'd never forsake his family. No matter how they treated him.
That was why Sam's first thought was to get to Dean. He needed to see him. Immediately.
Loud thumps, shortened breathing, and quiet cries of fear could be heard from the scout's room.
"Shit! Die! Just die! Please!" more of the bangs could be heard, becoming more frequent and beginning to echo across the corridors "Just stay still! Misty! Stay there! I've almost got this!"
There was a sudden silence, a pause, before the hyperventilating started again.
"Oh shit! Where did it go?!"
Between the noises of wood hitting wood, the scout's fast panting could be heard, as well as rapid footsteps.
"No! No! No! No!" another crash, before more followed, "Just go away! Or die already! Get away from me!"
"Oh shit! It's pissed off! I pissed it off, damn it, damn it, damn it, shit shit shit!" his mouth kept repeating the same expletives, the same threats, and the same backwards pleads whenever it could, and even then, they were barely heard over his bat repeatedly hitting the floor and missing its target.
The spider was fast, and it didn't seem to be going down without a fight... if just running in all kinds of direction and narrowly avoiding being crushed under the large baseball bat counted as a 'fight'.
