after feeling the 2 devastating earthquakes in turkey/syria, we've had 2 actual local earthquakes in the last 15-16 hours - obviously not on the same level as the turkey earthquakes but still strong enough to be Felt and considering the dead sea fault is long considered to be a ticking time bomb AND it's actually scientifically possible for strong earthquakes to trigger more strong earthquakes in the area around them then i'm totally calm about this !! !!!!!!!

#yesterday's earthquake was either magnitude 4 (esmc's report) or magnitude 3.5 (local israeli report)#the 2nd earthquake was too recent so the info is still changing #yesterday's earthquake was extremely shallow - a depth of 10km #today's seems to have been as shallow if not shallower #THIS IS FINE!!!!!!!

here's a side effect of this whole situation: I'm leaving my curtains in the front room open all the time now so that my plants can get as much natural light as possible (a tall order since sunshine is in short supply in this space). I also now know which window is my neighbor's and can see when their blinds are open or not.

this means walking around in my underwear just got way more risky and I'm now peeking around corners to check if their blinds are closed. pretty ready to go back to just keeping the curtains closed!!
