It was so gorgeous today I could not resist getting out to sketch for a little bit. This is the extremely cool Germania building built in 1877 complete with a giant sculpture of the goddess. It is a little disappointing that this ostentatious building was designed to house an insurance company. This is in my little sketchbook but I would like to do a larger study. I wish the brewery across the street had tables.

Getting more done on the bucket list y’all! So I went to the local candle store (The Candle Lab OTR) and checked out all their fall smells. Once that was complete, an hour later, the shop girl says “we have these blends if you want to try those”. And guess what, I liked the blends the best. Hence I bought two. Fall candle - check!

WINGFEST!! This past weekend was the inaugural Queen of the Wing festival in Washington Park. It was a clucking success if anyone asks me. Events at Washington Park can be iffy. Sometimes it isn’t big enough. Sometimes the lawn is a muddy mess. This weekend it was almost perfect. Except for the heat. The heat was miserable. But the wings were oh so good. Did I eat too many wings? Maybe. Do I want more wings? Absolutely!!
