this got really long oops, happy holidays to everyone !!
“Sai-chan! Come back please.” Tzuyu and Mina laughed as they watched their wife chase Sai across their house. The one and a half year old had seemingly endless amounts of energy in the morning. Ever since Sai had learned how to run she would always make a routine out of running away from them when they tried to dress her. Or when they tried to bathe her. She just loved running around everywhere. Even if she wasn’t the most stable runner, she loved running.
“Come here Sai.” Tzuyu had been fine watching Sana chase after Sai for a while, but they had to get moving to be ready. This year they were hosting for Christmas. They would always do something with their friends the day after Christmas, as most of the time of Christmas day they were with their families. They had always enjoyed getting together for christmas, and now that they had kids they enjoyed it more.
“Mama!” Sai ran to Tzuyu, Tzuyu picking her up. Sai was only in a diaper, and Tzuyu just knew she was going to tease Sai when she was older about her habit of running around their house naked. She had gotten a few pictures in the past, and she knew she would definitely show them at Sai’s wedding.
“Let’s get you dressed so you can be pretty for your Aunts.” Tzuyu informed Sai.
“Thank you Tzuyu.” Sana was out of breath from having to chase Sai around the house.
“Sure.” Tzuyu handed Sai over. “Be good for mommy sweetheart.”
“No!” Sai giggled, wiggling around in Sana’s arms.
“Sai-chan please. Mommy is just trying to get everything ready.” Sana sighed. “Is everything going okay here at least?” Tzuyu and Mina were on cooking duty while Sana looked after Sai.
“It’s going fine.” Mina nodded. “Here taste this.” Mina gave Sana a spoonful of soup, Sana accepting it easily while trying to calm Sai down in her arms.
“It’s good.” Sana’s eyes lit up. “Okay Sai, let’s go get dressed. Your grandmother got you a pretty dress, we need you to wear it.” Sana adjusted Sai in her arms and carried her to her bedroom. She quickly dressed Sai, knowing she wasn’t going to stay still for long. After she was done she picked Sai up and brought her to the living room, putting Sai down and closing the baby gate so she could check in with Mina and Tzuyu.
“Is she dressed?” Mina asked.
“Thankfully, yes.” Sana sighed, sitting down at the table and sighing in relief. “I’m a bit worried she’s going to use up all her energy before the others get here.”
“Sai has so much energy, she’ll be fine.” Tzuyu laughed. “I wonder where she gets it from.”
“Don’t look at me.” Mina laughed while stirring a soup. “My parents told me I was the opposite of Sai when I was her age.”
“Well it can’t all be me, even I can’t keep up with her.” Sana giggled, peaking over at Sai, who was playing by herself with some toy cars.
“Did you put her in the dress my mom got for her?” Mina asked.
“Yeah I did, we should get some pictures of her when she’s a little calmer.” Sana answered. “She does look adorable in it, but Sai and dresses don’t work.”
“At least it’s easy to put her in, it’s only one piece.” Tzuyu nodded, going over to Sana. “I’m going to go take Sai for a little walk. Everything I made is either in the oven or the fridge. It shouldn’t be long, but we can just tire her out a bit so she isn’t jumping on Kihyun and Seojun.”
“Okay.” Sana nodded. “I’ll come with you.”
“Sure.” Tzuyu smiled as Sana pulled her forward for a kiss. “Mina is it okay if we leave you alone for a bit?”
“Of course.” Mina nodded. “I’ll be here, making soup.”
“We’ll be back soon.” Tzuyu walked over to Mina and kissed her cheek. Tzuyu and Sana left the kitchen and Tzuyu went to grab Sai, who jumped up at the attention.
“Mama!”
“Hey Sai.” Tzuyu smiled at Sai. “Let’s go on a little walk okay?” Sai nodded eagerly. Sai still wasn’t great at walking, or running, but she liked to do it herself. Tzuyu and Sana each took one of Sai’s hands and walked to the door. Sana grabbed all of their coats and handed them out, Tzuyu putting Sai’s on for her before helping her with her shoes. Once they were outside, they went on a short walk around the block. After toddling around for a bit, Sai gave up and Tzuyu picked her up. Sana hung off of Tzuyu’s free arm as Tzuyu carried Sai. Sana took a few pictures of Sai in Tzuyu’s arms. Sai had gotten the hang of smiling for pictures, so she would always show her gummy smile whenever Sana took pictures of her. After a few together Tzuyu put Sai down and Sana was sure to take lots of pictures of her daughter. Once they were done, Tzuyu lifted Sai back into her arms.
“Sai-chan are you excited for christmas?” They had already had Christmas yesterday with their families, but Sai still hadn’t opened any of her presents from Mina, Sana, and Tzuyu.
“Yes!” Sai giggled, hugging Tzuyu tighter.
“I know you already got tons of presents from your grandparents yesterday cutie, but you still have more.” Sana giggled, taking Sai’s little hand and squeezing it. “There’s lots more toys for Sai-chan.” Sai giggled as Sana ticked her.
“Do you know how much time we have left until the others come over?” Tzuyu asked as they turned onto their street.
“About ten minutes. Momo and Jihyo will probably be the only two on time though I think.” Sana peaked at her watch.
“That’s probably true. Nayeon and Jeongyeon haven’t been on time since their sons were born.” Tzuyu laughed.
“Well we have been late more often since we had Sai.” Sana snuggled closer to Tzuyu’s arm. “It’s hard to be on time with a baby. You make mommies late don’t you Sai-chan?” Sana asked Sai, who giggled in response. Sana held her arms out and Tzuyu handed the baby over. Sana held Sai as Tzuyu got her keys out. When they entered their house it smelled strongly of food. They smiled before taking their shoes and coats off. Sai ran off the minute Sana let her down, and Sana chased after her. “Sai-chan! Don’t run off!” Sana shared a look with Tzuyu before going after Sai. She picked up Sai when she caught up to her, Sai giggling as Sana carried her to Mina.
“How’s it going in here?” Sana asked, adjusting Sai in her arms.
“It’s going okay.” Mina smiled. “Oh, we should get Sai’s food out too. Satang can you do that?”
“Sure. Here take Sai.” Mina nodded and put the spatula she was holding down, putting Sai secure on her hip.
“Ka-san.” Sai smiled at Mina, revealing her tiny teeth. Mina was happy Sai had most of her baby teeth in, teething had been a difficult process with Sai.
“Hi Sai.” Mina nuzzled their noses together. “Were you good on your walk?”
“She was pretty good. She got tired after a while so Tzuyu carried her.” Sana informed. “Ah I should set the drinks out. Do you think we will need any alcohol?”
“Maybe just set out a bottle of wine. I don’t think anyone is going to drink too much on account of the fact the kids are all going to be here.” Mina answered. “Hey Tzuyu? Can you put the furniture back? I moved it to vacuum.” Mina called into the other room.
“Oh sure!” Tzuyu answered. “I’m going to go change first and then I’ll do it.”
“Oh I should probably change too.” Sana nodded as she set the wine bottle out. “Mitang you look pretty.”
“Oh? Thanks.” Mina giggled. She had gone with a simple outfit for tonight, just opting for a pair of jeans and tucked in white blouse. She had gotten the shower first that morning so she had had time to do some simple makeup. She wasn’t trying to go too over the top, it was just a friend-family type of event, but she knew there would probably be pictures. “You do too.”
“I haven’t gotten dressed yet.” Sana giggled. “But thanks.”
“Well hurry up, Jihyo and Momo will be here soon. I can take care of Sai and watch the food.” Mina answered, hiking Sai up on her hip.
“Can I get a kiss first?” Sana puckered her lips.
“You got kisses, first thing this morning.” Mina rolled her eyes. “From both me and Tzuyu.”
“I can always get more.” Sana laughed. “But fine. I’ll just give Sai a quick kiss.” Sana kissed Sai’s cheek. Sai whined from where she was playing with Mina’s shirt collar. “Be back in a bit.”
“We’ll be here.” Mina giggled, swaying Sai in her arms as she cooked. She liked when Sai had a bit less energy and was able to really be in Mina’s arms. Of course, she always loved Sai but these quiet moments with her daughter were nice every once and awhile. “Hey Sai-chan, how are you?” Sai didn’t answer, instead putting her hand in her mouth. “Oh we should get you your pacifier.” Sai had energy beyond her years, but at the end of the day she was still one. Mina had to remind herself of that sometimes, especially after having to chase Sai around practically all day. Mina grabbed Sai’s pacifier and Sai seemed content in Mina’s arms while Mina cooked.
Sana and Tzuyu weren’t back by the time the doorbell rang. The loud noise had spooked Sai a bit, as she had just fallen into a quiet moment with Mina. Mina turned the heat off and yelled an “i got it” up the stairs before going towards the door. She was bouncing Sai as she walked, hoping to calm her down by the time they reached the front door. Mina unlocked the door with one hand before opening it, her attention still focused on calming Sai.
“Oh sorry did we do that?” Was the first thing Momo asked.
“No no… Well maybe but it’s okay. She was running around like crazy before so we just kind of calmed her down.” Mina explained. “Come in.”
“Hey Mina, merry christmas.” Jihyo smiled as she came in, Momo not far behind her. “And hello Sai-chan. Sorry for scaring you.” Jihyo smiled at Sai, taking one of her hands.
“Merry Christmas Mitang, Sai-chan.” Momo smiled at the two of them, though her attention was mostly focused on Sai. “Where are Sana and Tzuyu?”
“Getting dressed. They took Sai on a walk earlier to get some of her energy out so she wasn’t jumping on the other kids.” Mina explained. “She’s made Kihyun cry a few times by doing that. Anyway, can you hold Sai for me? I need to check on the soup.”
“Oh uh sure.” Jihyo took Sai, holding the girl while Mina ran off. “Momo you want her?”
“Jihyo stop being afraid of holding babies.” Momo laughed. “I know you almost dropped Seojun, but it’s okay. No one got hurt.”
“I know… I’m just stressed. Sai’s so little and so fragile and so… energetic.” Sai snuggled into Jihyo’s shoulder, her little hands bunching up Jihyo’s shirt.
“Look at her, she looks happy in her Auntie Jihyo’s arms. I’m going to go help Mina, you stay with Sai.” Momo smiled at her wife.
“Wait Momo no don’t leave-”
“Bye!” Momo laughed, waving as she went towards the kitchen. Jihyo sighed, holding Sai a bit tighter and carrying her to the couch. She sat down on it, grabbing a baby toy for Sai.
“Hi Sai-ah.” Jihyo adjusted Sai in her lap. “You are pretty cute… Do you want to play with me?”
“Yes!” Sai threw her tiny hands up and almost hit Jihyo in the face.
“Okay.” Jihyo laughed at her little niece. She moved Sai’s toy around like it was flying, which seemed to greatly amuse Sai. She was just happy she was able to make Sai happy.
“Oh Jihyo-ah!” Sana smiled when she saw Jihyo sitting on the couch with her daughter. “Merry Christmas!”
“Oh hey Sana, merry christmas.” Jihyo smiled at Sana. “Merry christmas to you too Tzuyu-ya.”
“Thank you Unnie.” Tzuyu smiled.
“Do you guys want Sai back?” Jihyo asked.
“Oh no, you two look so comfy.” Sana giggled. “Is Momo in the kitchen with Mina?”
“Yeah, she said she would go offer help.” Jihyo nodded.
“Okay great, I’ll go join them.” Sana smiled, leaving the room. Tzuyu sat next to Jihyo on the couch, occasionally looking over her daughter in Jihyo’s arms.
“How are you two doing?” Tzuyu asked. “Any luck yet?”
“No.” Jihyo sighed, still a bit stressed to be holding Sai. “Momo said she might start fertility treatment soon.”
“That’s interesting. I’m sorry this has been such a process for the two of you.” Tzuyu apologized.
“Oh no, it’s okay. It’s given me some more time to get ready.” Jihyo nodded. “It’s not that I didn’t want to have a baby, or that I don’t know what to do, but it’s a bit scary.”
“I never really felt ready. It’s just one day poof Sai was here. And I’ve loved every moment I’ve spent with her.” Tzuyu grabbed Sai’s sock covered foot. “You never are completely ready. But it’s worth it.”
“Your adorable Tzuyu-ya.” Jihyo laughed. “Thank you for saying that.” They had always thought Jihyo would have a child before Tzuyu, as she had always been the more motherly of the two of them. But, things happened. And Jihyo was actually a bit happy she was later to the baby party. She knew she would love her child to death but it still was a bit scary and intimidating. Her motherly traits were more towards her friends who were only a few years younger, and not actual children. Jihyo had thought she was ready for children when Nayeon had first told her she was pregnant with Seojun, but after spending some time around him and taking care of him a bit she realized having a child was a lot more stressful than she had originally thought.
“Of course.” The doorbell rang not long after that, and Sai was spooked by it again. A look of panic crossed across Jihyo’s face as Tzuyu left to go get the door. Jihyo stood up with Sai in her arms, gently swaying her and hoping that would calm her down.
“Shh... Sai…” Jihyo bounced Sai in her arms, hoping that would calm her down. “It was just the doorbell. You're okay.” Sai slowly quieted in Jihyo’s arms, cuddling against her shoulder once she was done.
“Sai-ah!” Jihyo was given barely any warning as Seojun ran off towards them, Hyunjun in tow behind him.
“Hey Seojun, hey Hyunjun.” Jihyo smiled at her nephews.
“Hello Auntie Jihyo! Merry Christmas!” Seojun gave Jihyo a bright smile. Sai squirmed in Jihyo’s arms and Jihyo was then reminded of her. She set Sai down, who immediately ran towards Seojun and Hyunjun like she hadn’t been crying just a second ago.
“She bounces back quickly.” Jihyo muttered to herself, watching the three toddlers all run around together.
“Hey Jihyo!” Jihyo looked up when she heard Nayeon’s voice. Nayeon and Jeongyeon were next to each other, Nayeon holding Jeongyeon’s arm.
“Oh hey Nayeon Unnie. It’s been a while.” Nayeon rushed forward and gave Jihyo a hug.
“Where’s Momo?” Nayeon asked.
“Kitchen.” Jihyo answered.
“Great! Momo!” Nayeon yelled as she went off in search of Momo.
“Don’t be offended that Nayeon likes Momo more than you Hyo.” Jeongyeon laughed at the look on Jihyo’s face as Nayeon abruptly left.
“I’m not offended.” Jihyo pouted.
“You look like it.” Jeongyeon laughed. “Come here dork.” Jeongyeon gave Jihyo a hug. The two alphas had been friends for a long time, and they were happy they had been able to keep their friendship up for so long.
“Sai! No!” They broke their hug when they heard Tzuyu yelling. They turned to see Tzuyu run towards Sai, lifting her off of Seojun who she had been attempting to climb like a jungle gym.
“She’s okay Tzuyu. Her and Seojun always play kind of roughly.” Jeongyeon laughed at the sight of Tzuyu with Sai. Seojun was just about the only person that could keep up with Sai’s energy, so they made a good team. Though their playtimes usually were chaotic, they enjoyed playing together. “As long as they aren’t getting hurt I think it’s okay.”
“If you say so. Sai, be good.” Tzuyu warned as she put her daughter down. She went over to Jihyo and Jeongyeon, letting out a long sigh when she reached them.
“Long morning?”
“Sai either sleeps all night or she wakes us up every two hours and there’s really no inbetween.” Tzuyu explained. “Plus she just has so much energy.”
“Yeah. I’m not sure where she gets it from, she’s like the exact opposite of both you and Mina.” Jeongyoen laughed.
“Well she’s what I imagine Sana was like at that age. Her parents say they are pretty similar.” Tzuyu yawned. “Are the others off in the kitchen?”
“Yup.” Jihyo nodded.
“Dahyun and Chaeyoung are the only ones who aren’t here. We should start on lunch right when they get here, Seojun may have energy now but he crashes big time before his naps.” Jeongyeon explained, glancing over at her two sons.
“It is Dahyun and Chaeyoung. They were always late before they had Kihyun.” Tzuyu nodded at the thought of her two friends.
“That’s true.” Jeongyeon laughed.
“Mama!” Seojun loudly interrupted their conversation.
“Yes buddy?”
“Can we play tag with Sai?” Jeongyeon looked to Tzuyu for the answer, who nodded. Sai hadn’t really played tag before but it was a simple enough game. She should be able to understand it.
“Sure.” Seojun had a big goofy smile at the answer.
“Seojun is growing up so fast, I remember when he was a lot smaller than he is now.” Jihyo commented as she watched her nephews and niece attempt to play tag.
“Yeah, he grows fast. He wants to be taller than me when he’s older.” Jeongyeon laughed at the thought. “Anyway, what about you Jihyo? Any news yet?”
“No…” Jihyo sighed. “Tzuyu and I were talking about this earlier. But things have just been hard for us. The waiting is by far the worst part. The longer we wait the more stressed I get. I feel bad for Momo, she’s been avoiding a lot of stuff in case she actually does get pregnant but considering the fact it’s been almost a year and we’ve had no results I’m sure she feels like it’s pointless.”
“Yeah, and that sucks. I’m sure one day things will work out though.” Jeongyeon nodded. “Nayeon and I have been talking a lot about having another one lately.”
“Really? Two isn’t enough?” Jihyo asked.
“Well… We kind of want a girl. Sai makes us a little jealous.” Jeongyeon laughed. “And well more than that, Nayeon has always wanted a big family. I told her three is my limit, and she respects that. We were going to wait a little longer but things are just in a good place right now with my work and her life.”
“That makes sense.” Jihyo nodded. “What about you Tzuyu? Are you going to have another one?”
“We probably will, but not until Sai is a little older. Sana has always talked about us possibly having two or three.” Tzuyu answered. “Chaeyoung told me she wants another one at some point too. What about you Jihyo?”
“I haven’t even had one yet.” Jihyo laughed. “Let me have one, and then I can tell you if I want another.” Two years ago Jihyo would have said yes. Two years ago she would have answered she wanted two kids. But now the seeds of doubt were embedded in Jihyo’s brain. And the longer she waited the more unsure she got.
“You know, you really are good with Sai.” Tzuyu commented, watching Sai play as roughly as normal. “I know she’s a handful, calming her down takes some work honestly. Not everyone can do it.”
“Well… You did leave her with me.” Jihyo sighed. “Was that on purpose?”
“Oh… Uh no?” Tzuyu looked away from Jihyo.
“You're terrible at lying Tzuyu.” Jihyo sighed.
“You don’t give yourself enough credit.” Jeongyeon hit Jihyo on the back. “You're great with kids. Stop being so worried. You’ll make a great Mama.”
“Thanks Jeongyeon… I’ll try.” Jihyo nodded.
“Seriously Jihyo, not everything has to be perfect. You and Momo will be great parents.” Jeongyeon sighed.
“I know the waiting has stressed you out, but you will be amazing at being a mama.” Tzuyu nodded, watching her daughter play.
“Thank you. And even if I seem scared, I do want to have baby with Momo.” Their conversation was interrupted again when Sai started screaming. She had fallen while running on the carpet, and immediately Tzuyu went to calm Sai down. Jihyo sighed at the sight. She really did want kids, even if she was scared.
xx
“Hey Mitang, is there anything I can do to help?” Momo asked as she walked into the kitchen.
“Oh hey Momo, no I’m good.” Mina laughed. “Did you leave Jihyo with Sai?”
“She needs more confidence. She’s amazing with kids; she just doesn’t give herself enough credit.” Momo giggled. “Ever since Seojun was born she’s started doubting herself more and more. But she’s fine. She’s ready.”
“She is. Jihyo just wants everything to be perfect, and I get it. I felt the same with Sana and Sai. But I’ve relaxed, at least Sana says I have. I still want everything to be perfect for Sai, but I’ve kind of realized she doesn’t need perfection to be happy. And as long as she’s happy and healthy, I’m happy.” Mina nodded. “If I can do it, Jihyo can. She’ll come around.”
“I know. She’ll be a great parent, she just doesn’t believe it yet.” Momo laughed.
“Momoring!” They were interrupted when Sana ran into the kitchen. Sana gave Momo a huge hug, Momo returning it. “It’s been forever.”
“It’s been three weeks Sana.” Momo rolled her eyes.
“Really?”
“Yeah we went out to lunch with Sai.” Momo laughed at Sana as she let go of the hug.
“Oh right.” Sana giggled back.
“Did you leave Tzuyu and Jihyo with Sai?” Mina asked.
“Yup. Jihyo was holding Sai last time I checked.” Sana answered, hugging Mina from behind as her wife worked.
“It’s nice to know Sai calmed down a bit.” Mina nodded. “She was running around non stop earlier.”
“Yeah I know I was chasing after her all day.” Sana laughed.
“Yeah and I’m sorry. Go sit. You too Momo.” Mina turned to her wife. Both of them nodded, and sat at the counter.
“Do you know when the others are getting here?” Momo asked.
“They should be here soon. But you know they will probably be late.” Sana answered. “Do you want anything to drink Momoring?”
“Oh sure, some water is fine.” Sana nodded, getting up and grabbing two glasses. She filled both of them up with water.
“Your birthday is in a few days right Sana?” Momo asked.
“Yeah, it’s in two days.” Sana put two red and white straws in their cups.
“Any plans?”
“Well we were thinking about going to dinner, but we haven’t figured out what to do with Sai yet.” Sana answered. “Mina already made the reservation and all, we thought my parents would be sticking around until then but they had to go back to Japan to take care of my grandmother.”
“Oh we can watch Sai!” Momo volunteered.
“Are you sure? I know it’s short notice.” Mina spoke up.
“Yeah we don’t have any plans until new years, it will be good for Jihyo.” Momo giggled. “It’s no problem. Just tell me when you guys are going to dinner and we’ll come over.”
“Thanks Momoring, that’s a big help.” Sana smiled. They heard the doorbell ring, followed by crying.
“I’m guessing Sai is still afraid of doorbells?” Momo asked.
“Yeah she is. She still doesn’t like loud noises in general.” Sana nodded. “Tzuyu’s got her, don’t worry Mina.” Sana could tell her wife was tense, she always tried to step in when Sai cried. She would wake up at night when Sai was crying even if it was someone elses turn to get her. Even when there was the reassurance that Sai was taken care of Mina always tried to step in. But they had been working on it.
There wasn’t much of a warning before Nayeon joined them in the kitchen. Momo and Sana both gave Nayeon a huge hug.
“Hey Nayeon Unnie, merry Christmas.” Mina nodded as she watched the two squeeze Nayeon tightly.
“Hey Mina.” Nayeon ran to Mina and gave her a hug.
“Your excited today Unnie.” Momo giggled at how Mina looked a bit awkward in Nayeon’s death grip of a hug.
“I love Christmas what can I say.” Nayeon laughed. “How was Chrsitmas for you guys? What did you guys do?”
“Sana’s parents flew in a few days ago and left this morning, so it was pretty good.” Mina answered.
“It’s only Sai’s second christmas so she’s still figuring it all out.” Sana patted the seat next to her, gesturing for Nayeon to come sit next to her.
“Yeah Hyunjun is like that too, but Seojun loves christmas.” Nayeon laughed, sitting next to Sana. “We went out to Jeongyeon’s parents house the other day, we had dinner with them. What about you Momo?”
“We went to Jihyo’s parents house.” Momo nodded. “I still haven’t given her her christmas gift yet, so I hope you guys don’t mind if I give it to her today.”
“Of course.” Nayeon nodded. “I meant to ask, did you figure out what to get her? I know you were really stressed about it a few weeks ago.”
“Oh yeah, and I think she will like it.” Momo nodded. “Well, I hope she will.”
“I’m sure she will. Jihyo is whipped for you.” Mina laughed as she turned the heat off.
“Funny coming from you Mina. We all know your whipped for Sana and Tzuyu.” Nayeon laughed at Mina’s blush.
“I am not!”
“Don’t be embarrassed Mitang. I love you the way you are.” Sana smiled at her wife, before yawning.
“Tired?” Nayeon asked.
“Sai didn’t sleep great last night.” Sana answered. “But she still has plenty of energy.”
“Seojun is like that too. Well he usually sleeps through the night but he always wakes up with a lot of energy.” Nayeon hopped off her chair and got a glass of water for herself. “Hyunjun is the opposite. He is always so tired in the morning.”
“Sai eventually tires herself out, it just takes a few hours.” Sana laughed.
“Speaking of the kids, Jeong and I have decided to have another one.” Nayeon sat back down, and they watched as Mina started washing some of the dishes.
“Really? Congrats.” Sana smiled at them. “We are going to wait until Sai is a little bit older. She’s a handful.”
“Seojun is starting to calm down a bit, and we are in a good place right now. It just seems like the right time.” Nayeon nodded. “Speaking of babies, Momo how’s it going? I know you guys have been trying for a while.”
“Almost an entire year now. But um actually there is some news...” The next part was left unsaid but Sana and Nayeon’s faces both lit up when they realized what Momo was implying.
“Momo that’s amazing!” Sana reached over and gave her a huge hug.
“Yeah I knew you two could do it!” Nayeon smiled. “How far along are you? Does Jihyo know?”
“About a month, and no it’s my christmas gift to her.” Momo smiled. “We’ve wanted this for so long, and I know the waiting has been eating at Jihyo and stressing her out more.”
“I’ve noticed. She’s gotten so much more hesitant around the kids lately, but she really is good with them, even if she doesn’t believe it. When are you due?” Nayeon asked, hugging Momo once Sana was done.
“Early August.” Momo answered. “I just found out a few days ago. I thought it would be a good gift considering Christmas was right after I found out.”
“That’s exciting!” Sana smiled. “I’m sure Jihyo will love it.”
“I hope she will.” Momo sighed, taking a sip of her water.
“I know she will.” Mina smiled from where she was washing dishes. “You two have waited so long for this. You deserve it.”
“Thank you Mina.” Momo smiled. “I’m really excited, and I hope she will be too.”
When Dahyun and Chaeyoung get there, the kids all run to Kihyun.
“Kihyunie!” Sai would have jumped on him if it weren’t for Tzuyu holding her back.
“Sai we’ve talked about this. No jumping on Kihyun.” Tzuyu sighed.
“Hi Sai.” Kihyun was hiding behind Dahyun’s leg. He hated getting jumped on.
“She won’t jump on you.” Tzuyu told Kihyun. Kihyun nodded and let go of Dahyun’s leg.
“We were playing tag! Come play with us Kihyun!” Seojun told the younger boy. Kihyun nodded, following Seojun. Tzuyu released Sai, who followed the other two.
“Hey Tzuyu.” Chaeyoung gave Tzuyu a high five as greeting. The two both weren’t the biggest huggers, so high fives were more comfortable for them than hugs.
“Hi Tzuyu-ya. Merry Christmas!” Dahyun smiled at Tzuyu.
“Merry Chrsitmas Dahyun, Jeongyeon and Jihyo are in the other room. Lunch should be ready any minute.” Tzuyu explained.
“Okay great. I’ll go put these down.” Dahyun was holding an armful of presents, and Tzuyu nodded.
“Thanks for holding Sai back. Kihyun loves Sai but he has about half of her energy.” Chaeyoung laughed.
“Of course. I know she’s a handful.” Tzuyu nodded.
“Kihyun’s not shy and Sai is smaller than him, so I don’t think she’s ever hurt him. It just is a bit scary to have her run and jump on him.”
“It’s not helpful Sai is fearless.” Tzuyu started walking towards the living room, Chaeyoung following her.
“They do have a cute relationship though. Even if Kihyun can barely keep up with her.” Chaeyoung commented.
“Yeah, Kihyun compliments her well. Seojun provokes her but Kihyun helps her from playing so rough.” Tzuyu looked at the four kids. Kihyun and Hyunjun were playing with some toy cars on the floor while Sai and Seojun were running around each other. Sai was the smallest kid by far, but it was adorable that she had so much energy, even if it was exhausting sometimes.
They make sure all the kids have food before sitting down for their own food. After everyone is done they clean all the kids off before they go back to the living room to eat. They had all gotten gifts for the kids, but every year they did a gift exchange with each other.
“So are we going to go youngest to oldest?” Sana asked, Sai secure in her lap.
“Yeah that sounds like a good idea.” Tzuyu nodded. “So Sai first?”
“Yup. Seojun do you want to help mommy get everyone’s presents?” Seojun nodded eagerly at Nayeon question. Nayeon read all the tags and Seojun ran to the person and handed it to them. After all the presents were handed out Sana helped Sai open hers. Next was Kihyun, and then Hyunjun and finally Seojun. Most of the kids presents were various toys, which excited all of them. They unboxed some of the toys for them and let the four of them play in the corner with their new toys while the adults did their gift exchange.
“So I guess I’m first.” Tzuyu nodded, looking at the box in her lap. She unwrapped it and giggled at the present, it was a stuffed cow.
“Aww.” Sana laughed at the present.
“I know your an adult, but your never too old for stuffed animals.” Dahyun joined in the laughing.
“So I’m guessing you got this?”
“You said you wanted to get a cow.” Dahyun shrugged.
“I said that a long time ago.” Tzuyu laughed. “But thank you, regardless.”
“Sure,” Dahyun giggled.”Chaeng is next right?”
They continued going from youngest to oldest until Nayeon had unwrapped her present. Most of them went over to the kids to play with them and make sure they were okay, leaving Momo and Jihyo on the couch together.
“I know I didn’t give you a proper present yesterday, I wanted to wait until today.” Momo explained. The others were engaged in their own conversation with the kids, so the attention was off of them. Momo handed Jihyo a small box.
“Thanks baby.” Jihyo leaned forward and gave Momo a kiss. “Can I open it now?” Momo nodded, a bit of worry crossing across her face. The anticipation was building inside of her as Jihyo unwrapped the gift. She thought she was going to burst when Jihyo finally opened the box. It took a second for Jihyo to process what was in there, but when she did the biggest smile crossed across Jihyo’s face. “Momo!” Mom laughed as she was wrapped up in a huge hug. She fell backwards on the couch, pulling Jihyo on top of her. “Are you serious? Is this a joke-”
“It’s not a joke.” Momo giggled as her face was covered in kisses.
“I love you so much.” Jihyo whispered, tears in her eyes. They had both waited so long for this, and even if Jihyo was scared and stressed, she knew this was what they had wanted for so long. It had been almost an entire year since they had agreed to start trying, and it was making Jihyo emotional.
“Woah, what did we miss?” Dahyun asked as she noticed the two of them.
“Did you tell her?” Nayeon asked.
“Yup.” Momo giggled as Jihyo gave her more kisses.
“Tell her what?” Chaeyoung asked, Kihyun and Sai both climbing in her lap.
“I’m pregnant.” Momo told them, tears in her eyes as she admitted it for the first time. That was her first time saying it out loud.
“Finally!” Dahyun smiled at the two of them.
“Congrats you two.” Jeongyeon smiled at the sight of them. “I’m guessing you already knew Yeonie?”
“Momo told some of us earlier.” Nayeon nodded.
“What does that mean mommy?” Seojun asked, standing with his new toy plane in his hands.
“Auntie Momo and Auntie Jihyo are going to have a baby Seojun.” Jeongyeon answered for her wife, settling Hyunjun in her lap.
“Oh!” Seojun giggled. “Come here Sai! Let’s play with my new toy!”
“That’s amazing you two.” Chaeyoung smiled at the two of them.
“Yeah it is pretty exciting.” Tzuyu agreed.
“Are you crying Hyo?” Jeongyeon laughed at her friend, seeing how tears were leaking from Jihyo’s eyes.
“N-No!” Jihyo sniffled, rubbing tears out of her eyes.
“Don’t tease her Jeongyeon you cried the first time too.” Nayeon laughed.
“N-No I didn’t!” Jeongyeon protested, causing all of them to laugh.
“It’s okay to cry.” Sana giggled. “Mina and Tzuyu cried too.”
“Ha! I didn’t cry!” Chaeyoung laughed at the other two alphas, who were both laughed.
“You did too.” Dahyun narrowed her eyes at Chaeyoung. “You were sobbing for like ten minutes.”
“No I didn’t!”
“Yes you did.” Dahyun rolled her eyes. Jihyo turned them all out as they stated to tease Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung, keeping her attention on Momo.
“Thank you so much.” Jihyo whispered. Momo thought Jihyo had never looked more pretty than right now. She had the biggest smile on her face as she cried, looking right into Momo’s eyes. “I love you so much.” Jihyo leaned down and gave Momo a long kiss on the lips. Momo smiled into the kiss, some of Jihyo’s tears landing on her face. They had waited so long for this, and it was finally happening.
“I love you too.” Momo answered. “More than anything in the world.”
