Once upon a time there was little boy who was loved so very much by his parents. He was loved by most everyone he met to be honest.
November 26th 2012 was not like any other day for his mom. She was beyond ready to hold her son and love him like no other. It was snowing outside, and been a full day of long labour for her. Nurses, Doctors, family and friends all waited not so patiently for him to be born. For his big sister had came into the world, in that exact room, by the exact doctor, at that exact hospital just 13 months before forever sleeping.
Finally he was born, and tears of joy sprung from his mom's eyes. His auntie, daddy, and the nurses were all over come with emotions. All excited for his arrival. Many nurses who were supposed to go home already stayed just to witness his birth. He was perfect in every way. Such long legs and ever so tiny. 22 inches long, but only 6 lbs 7 oz.
There wasn't many people who knew what his name was going to be. Ryder Paul. Ryder meaning: mountain warrior. Paul for his Nana Pauline who left the earth 8 months before his birth.
There has been many things this young striking lad had to over come in his short life. With every set back, he has handled it with the spirit of a warrior. Delayed walking meant he would talk so early.. Saying hi, waving hello, talking to his cats and dogs. He loved to ask questions, WHY WHY WHY???, and was obsessed with all fans and lights.
He has grown fast, gaining weight and height at lighting speed. Before anyone knew it, he was turning 9. His mother can not believe that he has grown into a 4 foot 6 inch handsome fellow so quick. Surly there was some mistake. She blinked and it was all too real.
He likes to challenge his parents in the best way. Mimicking the likes of one Sheldon Cooper (minus the mannerisms) from a popular tv show The Big Bang theory. He adores the show Young Sheldon, and many people compared his intellect to that of the lead character. His mother homeschools him, and makes sure that his socialization is above par. Not to worry about that though, as he makes friends everywhere he goes.
Ryder loves playing video games, and playing monopoly just as much as reading. His interests are not of toys and silly games, much to his father's disappointment. Toys r Us isn't a favourite of his, even though it is his father's, nor was the love of Star Wars. They are proud of him, although for not being follower but a leader. He likes the things he likes and doesn't sway from that.
The love he has for his big sister knows no bounds. He never met her, and only knows her from photos yet he talks like she is here. It's often believed that the souls of babies gone too soon resonate in their loved ones. He has a special connection only they know.
Many people think he will grow up to be a judge. A fair one but strict. He will let people off if they truly deserved it, but defiantly will want them to give back to the less fortunate as he does now.
Going to donate can foods and goods to a local church food pantry, was his idea after all. He wants 9 presents for his birthday but also 9 things to bring to the pantry. His love of generosity shining through.
Snuggles, co sleeping and true love for his mother were all things he still enjoys. She is sad they hadn't taken a bath together in years, but loves to snuggle with him nightly. Even though he's almost as tall as her, and wears clothing 14/16 and size 6 shoes (hers 8, his father size 13). He takes up most of the bed, but that doesn't matter. She is not looking forward to the day that he no longer wants anything to do with her. It is very doubtful that day will ever come though, (please don't ever let that day come).
Ryder weighs 107 lbs now as of November 26th 2021, and often wears his father's clothes. A tad long on him, but still comfortable enough for inside wear. A whole foot taller than his friends, means many think he is much older than he actually is. He is built like a football player, but with the brains of a scholar.
Anyone who meets him is better for it. They know that he was one to follow rules, and feel comfortable with him playi1ng with their own kids. Sometimes it gets to be too much for his mother, as she wants him to have fun and forget about said rules for a bit. Enjoy life, jump into the pool from the trampoline, be a risk taker, don't ask permission just do it. Alas that has yet to ever happen. But not for lack of trying.
Ryder is known for his brilliant mind but also his idiosyncrasies. He is not a fan of sarcasm but knows his mother speaks fluent in it. Ryder is extremely logical, but this sometimes comes of as being condescending to others.
He loves his dogs (zelda, Yoda, Anakin), cats (Chase and Dexter), parents, friends, and even his fish. There wasn't anyone he had met that he does not get along with. A per testament to the person he is. The most beautiful boy in all the land, and I am glad to say that he is my son.
