Rewatching This Is Us from the beginning and things I noticed...
-Rebecca says to Tess that she's been burying her emotions very deeply, so much so it made her body hurt, since she was in her 20s. She mentions losing a child (Kyle) but she was 30 then. So we should see something that Rebecca goes through in her 20s. I'm guessing a parallel to Kate somehow.
-Beth's mother's mother was from Harlem. Are we going to get some story there? Will Beth retrace her family in a different but similar way to Randall. I would also love to see Beth learning to dance before she walked in Jamaica, where her father was from.
-Deja is an exceptional writer according to her teachers and everyone who reads her writing. Will she grow up to be a writer? Perhaps the reason we have not seen her in the future yet is because she is writing the This Is Us story.
-Annie is asthmatic, claustrophobic, and an excellent speller. I wonder if we will get more about those things worked into her story somehow. I am so super curious about Annie's story because we have gotten so little of it so far.
-We never got Darryl's story, the friend of Jack's who was with him the night he saw Rebecca sing. Did they no longer stay friends? Did they grow up together? His last name was McGee, so it's not clear that he was family. It was implied that he was also in the Vietnam War and struggling when he got back.
-When Nicky was born, Jack's father, Stanley, did not touch alcohol because his father was an alcoholic. What happened that he became an alcoholic and abusive? I'd like to see Jack's parents before he became abusive because his mother, Marilyn, said, "He didn't used to be this way." We see he was a caring husband and father when Jack was very little.
-Shelly lives in Connecticut after she and Miguel break up. Was she from there? Because that's where Rebecca's mom lives/was from, too. I always wondered how Rebecca ended up in Pittsburgh. She calls it home when she and Jack go to L.A. but did she grow up or partly grow up in Connecticut? Did she and Shelly move to Pittsburgh together before meeting Miguel and Jack? How did Shelly and Rebecca meet? And how did Miguel and Shelly meet?
I am just finished with S3 so I may add to this with S4 stuff.
