âWatch it Greta!â Fabian warned, sending a disarming charm toward the wizard who had attempted to stun her. Normally, Fabian preferred to stick with defensive spells until just the right moment. He wasnât so bad at dueling, he had a mind for strategy, but he couldnât afford to take a hit. When dueling alongside Gideon, his brother usually took more of the offensive role, Fabian the defense. They made a good team. Now that Fabian had a cure, he did have more stamina and on a good day, he might have been able to take a hit. Unfortunately today his muscles already screamed, his bones ached with the cold and he feared a hit could send him over the edge. They couldnât afford that at the moment.
Fabian never thought he would be grateful to fight alongside Alecto Carrow. For that matter, he never imagined that they would fight on the same side in anything, but he had to admit she was quite a force. Â Her spells were violent, and relentless but it made up for Fabianâs preference for defensive spells and Gretaâs lack of experience. âFocus Greta. Come on, you can do it. Yeah! Thatâs it!â He said encouragingly as her spell hit itâs mark. âStay focused, weâre not done here.â Fabian warned, gesturing to the other wizards clad in white.
Alectoâs eyes glittered with malevolence as she witnessed Grindelwaldâs Army begin to descend upon Hogsmeade, beginning to rain upon its inhabitants with various spells, a cruel smirk appearing upon her lips as she snarled at the way they begun to encounter her with spells. Glancing briefly around her surroundings she rolled her eyes as she realised who she was surrounded with - such incompetence. It seemed that she would be the one who would have to unfortunately have to protect to others who were unexperienced with the art of War, meaning that she would have to dance her way through this battle to be successful. It was rather unfortunate neither Amycus nor Bella were with her. It would have been the perfect opportunity to play around with the new spells they had been experimenting with.
Alas she was instead confined with two irritating individuals which meant she would have to change her spells accordingly, meaning she couldnât use the unforgivable curses in front of them. At least it meant she would be able to hone her skills upon her wordless and wandless spells as she outwardly cast some more appropriate spells and curses. As she began to easily cast away at the masked figures, she began to laugh cruelly at the way they began to fall at her offensive spells as she relentlessly began to use their rocky surroundings to effectively maim them permanently.
However as she briefly began to become distracted by her little petâs continued questions, she began to cast a shield spell as she smirked at the way Fabian began to encourage her. It was a pity that she wouldnât last long in the coming battles, with her lack of experience and spell knowledge. She did enjoy playing with Greta. âKeep out of my way and Iâll clear a pathway to the castle. Prewett protect Catchlove and help her with shielding.â She replied shortly as she shifted to hex another white robed figure who decided to prey upon them since they were Hogwarts students. How fatal that mistake would be. âSectumsempra!â She cast, watching with morbid fascination at the way the man fell so easily as she cut across from his neck to his lower ribcage, the blood beginning to marr the white fabric of his robe. Many would fall that day, and Grindelwaldâs Army would rue the day they had decided to attack.
Greta was still in a state of soft shock -- stunned, glancing around absentmindedly. She caught sight of a moth from the ashes of something -- she didnât care to dwell upon that thought too long -- new life. A new beginning. As trite as it sounded, it was enough for her to raise her chin slightly. âThank you!â Greta yelled as she swiftly dodged the Stunning Spell. It was almost exhilarating, as terror-inducing as the situation was; Greta knew she was no dancer, she could only dodge so long, and her Shield Charms were rather shoddy.  Holding up her wand, she murmured Protego without confidence and the offensive spell from one of the villains slowed before passing through the barrier and flew just under her elbow. Wringing her hands, she attempted another Shield Charm. It was halfway successful, covering just barely her and no one else.Â
Not in any of her most fanciful, farfetched dreams had Greta conceived of an occurrence like this. One of her close friends and Quidditch partners and well --- whatever Alecto was, something tumultuous and deadly and alluring -- together! This would do for some wonderful bonding, although a wave of worry passed over her, realizing she couldnât protect them, much less herself. Not that they needed it really, they were both fantastic wixen. Gretaâs eyes brightened at Fabianâs encouragement. She could kiss him on the cheek, she was so ecstatic.
Alecto was always erudite, and now was no exception -- her eyes flickering in the Slytherinâs direction at her words, she nodded frantically. âSounds good, Alecto!!â  Her words of inspiration, if they could be called that, had invigorated Greta utterly and completely. Abruptly, the shield shimmered and fell. She hated being a burden on someone else, so she was loath to ask for help, but when a sudden curse flew towards her she screamed, covering her mouth immediately afterward, just hoping she could dodge it.
