He said I say "I love you" too much
When you're a second wife you live with a ghost.

When the panic attacks would come, at winds 1000 miles per hour, with your lips so close they brushed my earlobes, you'd whisper to me "surrender. surrender, baby. surrender." Your voice like honey and butter in my ears. Like bright fucking yellow in a field of deep, gray fog. You were green eyes and a quite, sleepy voice. I don't care, I don't care, I don't care, I'll scream it till my throat turns bloody, you taught me that safety is only a form of liquid, it seeps through tightly clenched fists. And no matter how hard I tried, I could not hold onto you. [you were my safe place, honey. you were my home.]
Abbie Nielsen, Safe Place
I don't really think its false hope as it was pretty much known that I didn't want anything from the start. Not to sound like a downer, but maybe you shouldn't be so optimistic. I know that's how you are, but everyone dies, dreams don't come true most of the time, and you can rarely have everything you want. That's just the way it is. If you don't expect things to happen, you won't feel so let down and when things that you weren't expecting to occur do occur, it is really great
rejection.
