Top 5 marianas trench songs?

😱that’s a near impossible task! i think, like anyone, the song/album i gravitate towards changes with my mood. in general, i adore how they have this style of making, what i like to call, “five songs in one”. the songs that take you on a journey. those songs that are an album in themselves. and i’m not just talking about when they mash-up all their songs into one which are [chef’s kiss].

so, with no further ramble or ado and in no particular order, here’s my current top 5:

Echoes of You (this is my go-to right now & im so mad i missed out on their new album until recently! it’s so, so good!! the whole thing!!)

Ever After (a whole fantasy novel in a song)

Masterpiece Theatre II (don’t ask how many times i curled up in my bed and cried to this in high school)

Wildfire (the lyrics - “Now you want me / But what if your heart's a liar / 'Cause if you change your mind again / I'll burn like a wildfire” - are a set of lyrics that just fucking HIT me in a primal place in my heart and make me want to scream)

a tie between...Astoria (a whole coming-of-age story in one song) & Yesterday (i’m always down to have a one girl lip sync party to this one and, listen, “I’m just so good at fucking up”....#same)

special shout-out to Alibis ( “I don't know how to word it / I just started to deserve it” [through my tears] b-bitch!), Beside You (this was one of my absolute favorites in high school), All To Myself (the delivery of “This isn't what I wanted, but / I can't keep my filthy fucking mouth shut”? [chef’s kiss])

1. Top 3 fav sub genres

🤔🤔 Not entirely sure what counts as genre vs subgenre but I think probably home invasion, found footage, and suuper hard to get right (they all kinda are) but I do love a good monster horror movie. Oh! And really really niche but anything set at a gas station 👍

2. Top 3 least favorite sub genres

Torture porn definitely, anything worse than saw is a no for me, exploitation horror, which is pretty much the same ball park, and I guess 🤔 I have a few comedy horrors I really like but I don't super seek it out so I guess that. So hard! I like most types of horror movies

8. A beloved movie you dislike

🤔🤔 I feel like strangers was pretty hyped back in the day, I think it's ok 👍 kinda the same with the recent smile (especially) and barbarian, I liked them ok, but def didn't have the same reaction a lotta people did

10. Favorite final girl(s)

So hard. Ripley from alien, recently liked Naru in prey. Man I'm having a hard time even thinking of any more!

14. Favorite remake/reboot

I haven't seen the original but I always like house of wax. The american version of the rings good too. Extra shout out to fright night and the thing

21. All time favorite movie and why

Literally impossible 😭 top 3... noroi the curse, best documentary type horror movie 4 sure, just a very one of a kind and creepy movie. Malignant, infinite rewatchability, fun, violent, great colors.

And the collector, suuuuper intense! First watch literally tense whole time. Also just love it. Backup shout out to Saw (1, 5, 6), not current fixating on it but it's my forever love.......

25. A movie that genuinely scared you

Texas chainsaw massacre made me feel different than any other horror movie has, still. Like had to pause a bunch because it really 🤔 I don't know if it's scared necessarily but it had me! Gonjiam haunted asylum may be my real pick, there are so many scenes that just gave me chills 😵 definitely the movie I recommend to anyone who wants to see a SCARY movie. Extra shout out to Sinister, very creepy scenes in that too
