🍠 - what are your opinions on the Rengoku family, and how Kyojuro was raised?

Honestly? I’ve always felt that Ruka and Shinjuro did a lot of damage to Kyojuro. Ruka instilled the value that the lives of others were much more important than his own, and Shinjuro abandoned him when he needed it most 🥺

Kyojuro has tried to be there for Senjuro the way his father used to be, but, with his missions taking him away from home, he’s more distant than he’d like. He wishes more than anything that his father would come back, and blames himself for not being able to ‘save’ Shinjuro. Lol very messed up.

I do think in an AU where his parents live, his hero complex is way better-adjusted, because he grows up with people he can safely rely on… but for now he doesn’t know how to depend on others!!! Tanjiro will have to be a pillar he can lean on 🥺

🔥- What first drew you to Rengoku Kyojuro/Tanjiro?

Honestly? The movie 😂

It was so clear that Tanjiro looked up to Kyojuro, and his voice was SO SOFT when talking to him… ah ah, it makes my heart sing. And the way tanjiro WEPT when Kyojuro was dying… you do not ghibli cry like that unless you’re a little gay for the guy dying. Sorry I don’t make the rules.

Their on-screen chemistry was instant and deep, and now I ship them! There’s no going back. I’m past the point of no return.

Honestly that’s tough, but I think I tend to like lord and knight OR assassin vs bastard dynamics…? I suppose RenTan qualifies as the former, because neither are the assassin-bastard type 🤔

I DO like DouShino though… 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

I like all kinds of AUs, but I tend to gravitate towards romantic ones… usually involving fantastic creatures or monsters. I’m surprised I haven’t written too much for rntn… but I do have a couple kami AUs in WIP 🤔

I generally can’t stand harem AUs… I’m a big multishipper but I like to focus on one ship at a time 😂

My blorbo varies from week to week but in terms of KNY, it’s currently Douma who is breasting boobily through my head. I haven’t written any fics with him yet… but, I like to headcanon that he’s a fan of RenTan. Because I said so 🤣

💤 - what are your feelings about Enmu? Was he an effective villain in the story? Do you like him in AUs?

I like him as a villain! He has a really unique take on dreams and mercy, and I feel like that makes him fun to watch? He also connects to Tanjiro’s pain in a way that really works. Isn’t it hard? This violence, this fighting? Wouldn’t he like to end his journey? To rest… to see his family again…

And the moment when tanjiro claps back is SO good!!

However, I wish that we had gotten some kind of flashback to his life… to me, that always made the demons more impactful.

I don’t get the train pervert thing so I assume gotouge was joking about that 🤣

I really like him in AUs as a plot device rather than a character— I think that if he manages to eat all those people, then his blood demon art would increase exponentially— so he not only creates dreams, but dumps his victims into alternate realities. hahah. It’s weird, I know. But I have a bunch of AUs based on this premise alone heheheh 🥵

what do you mean with the lead up?? tell us your strong feelings and thoughts....

Well, I have a strong preference for assertive tanjiro because he’s so stubborn… I want him pursuing kyo and not the other way around… kyo is so oblivious, so focused on duties and his family, he doesn’t even notice tanjiro is here to pick him up for their third date. Actually, I don’t think he even knows they’ve been on date one or two. Kyojuro is concentrating on much more important things.

That said, I do like to fiddle around with the opposite premise— dream a little dream features kyo pursuing tanjiro, who loves kyojuro SO MUCH… that he doesn’t even realize it 😂

Regardless, I feel that kyojuro is very blunt? Maybe not not aggressive. Dark AUs aside, he respects Tanjiro’s boundaries. He minds his own business. He doesn’t ask for things that might screw up what they have.

That’s why I kind of prefer Tanjiro to be the one that “pushes” for their relationship. Kyojuro has spent his entire life sacrificing his wants and needs for others, I’m not sure he really knows how to pursue what he wants. It’s more interesting to me, personally, if he has no clue.

Lastly, I don’t really think either of them “got game” so I enjoy watching them do silly little courting rituals that end in disaster. If one is smooth, the other one can’t see it. There is beauty in mutual pining…

oh i didnt know the mods had decided to run rentan week twice a year! i missed it last month and thought i had lost my chance to paticipate, those a great news thank you <3 i will also keep checking in case you ever rt any rentan exchange/event or anything alike, thanks a lotttt
