Jimmy Darmody or Richard Harrow? :)
Richard for sure. I love Jimmy but Jimmy made me angry a lot and also I was constantly wanting to fix his hair.

So bc I'm out of school for the summer, I've been on a reading-for-pleasure binge. Most recently, I read Julia Fox's book on Jane. Overall, I thought it was pretty good - though she crosses the line from faction to fiction a couple of times (I hate when biographers project thoughts or feelings onto their subjects - "Jane was nervous, excited, etc.") But overall, I liked it. I did notice Mantel reviewed the book about a year before publishing Wolf Hall - guess it didn't make an impact on her lol.
Mantel writes in her epilogue of Bring Up the Bodies that we often put more blame on Jane than she deserves but because she was a lazy writer she decided to ignore this fact and just fall back on a comfortable stereotype.
Her review is such a fucking joke that I actually enjoy reading it, probably the only thing she’s ever written I enjoy. Literally it could be summed up as “Julia Fox is probably right but I don’t like her writing style, lol”
Anyway, yeah Julia Fox’s book is good and enjoyable, I have a fair amount of criticism myself but I have a huge amount of respect for the woman.
I'm curious what your opinion was of Wolf Hall's portrayal of Jane Seymour? I actually thought it was an interesting take on her and one I feel like we haven't seen before. And I liked her relationship with Cromwell, despite the fact that it sometimes bordered on creepy. Thoughts?
I’m a little drunk right now so I hope I make sense and give you an answer worth reading.
I was okay with their portrayal of Jane Seymour. I mean I’m all here for Jane’s that are more than simpering doe eyed innocents, as I think Jane Seymour was very much the capable politician. Her interactions with Cromwell were grating and annoying though, as it was obvious that she, like Mary and about 80 percent of all the women in Wolf Hall wanted Cromwell’s dick. I was all there for Jane Boleyn calling Cromwell out on it too (actually I’m all there for Jane Boleyn calling out just about everyone in this shit tv show for their bullshit). And considering about 90 percent of the time we see Jane Seymour it’s shoved into our faces that she likes Cromwell and Cromwell has a hard on for her it made it hard to really really get into her.
But she had potential, a lot of it, and that makes it even more annoying.
5?
Hmmm...that’s hard! In no order my top 5 female Queens/Empresses/Royalty would be
1. Anne Boleyn (The Tudors)
2. Queen Elsa :) (Frozen)
3. Snow White (Once Upon a Time)
4. Princess Atta (A Bug’s Life)
5. The Childlike Empress (The Neverending Story)
Thanks for asking sweetness :)
Zeus :)

Top 5 favorite facts about Jane Parker
5. She sent her husband a message of comfort, and that she was able to do it at all. It’s something that’s confused and confounded historians for generations, and while many have chosen to ignore it all together, others have come up with a myriad of interesting theories. Some that she was playing it safe on the small chance her husband was let go (amusing since if we are working on the idea that she was the main instigator of the incest charges, she’d know better than anyone how doomed he was), others like Ives have suggested that given the message was relayed by two enemies of the Boleyns that there was malice to be read in the messages (ignoring that perhaps Jane had given the message to Cromwell who had gotten permission from Henry who had then picked the messengers himself, meaning Jane had no say in the matter at all. I highly doubt she asked for these two men herself). But what about the more positive suggestions? It’s equally plausible that Jane, who would always prove herself to be a woman of quick and decisive action (if not always the best action), was just simply doing something for the sake of doing it? Giving a vague message may have simply beat sitting around doing nothing. Perhaps this was a woman playing the role of the dutiful wife? Or perhaps Jane legitimately cared about George and wanted to make sure he was okay? Either way it does show Jane’s quickness of action and her strength of will.
4. She managed to wrangle back her and George’s marriage bed from Henry, alongside some of her plate.
3. Her relationship with Anne Boleyn. It’s possible the two disliked each other, or that they had a falling out later in life, but given all the evidence I find it hard to believe at some point, Anne didn’t hold her high in favor and trust her explicitly.
4. How Jane’s execution impressed Otwell Johnson, that she was able to meet her end with bravery and integrity.
5. Jane outfoxed Thomas Boleyn not once but twice.
Because I hate offensive anons with every fiber of my being, I just wanted to tell you that your blog is lovely and don't worry about complainers! It blows my mind that people would actually take time out of their day to go to someone else's blog and complain about what they post. There is no monopoly on any fandom, and you don't have to blacklist TOBG or Reign just because you like history. Anyway, chin up, keep doing a fantastic job, and just ignore the haters :)
thank you so much, it definitely means a lot! i don’t let them affect me in any way — that’s the second person getting angry at me for enjoying reign, yet i still love it just as much as i did before. i think it’s so childish to tell people what to like and dislike. thank you again :)
Baz Luhrmann?
Moulin Rouge for sure. It's one my top 5 films overall.
