In a way, this photo embodies everything we love about vanlife; simplicity, minimalism, everyday tasks which turn into adventures.
Driving through cute little villages with ancient churches, weaving through rural farms and green green fields, searching for a place to fill up our water. I admit I enjoyed these hand pumps a little too much, but they reminded me of a simpler time, a less complicated way of living, the unconventional and free-spirited bohemian lifestyle that has its very roots set in the Czech Republic.
And this is how we felt in this beautiful country; free to explore, free to camp wherever we chose to lay our heads, free to roam under the canopy of golden autumn leaves that fell and glimmered in low morning sunlight. We had entered a land of fairytale castles, vast forested landscapes and rich traditions. We drank beer and ate pumpkin soup with friends old and new, and got closer to nature than ever before, living, if only for a short while, among the deer and boar.
The Czech Republic lives fondly in our memories in perpetual autumn just as we experienced it, beckoning us back with a promise of mythical lands, boundless wilderness, uncharted forest tracks and free-spirited bohemian culture.
#Throwback to the Czech Republic, a country with such awe-inspiring nature, rich traditions and hospitable people that we long to return to some day.
