I won't finish my Harry Potter WIPs
Hey, um.
So. To anyone who follows me for HP content/the fics I have that are HP wips.
I'm, um. Probably never going to finish those. The JKR bullshit is making it really hard to engage with her characters because exposure is exposure and I'm, um, maybe disgusted is the word? Definitely feeling less than positive feelings. Aggressive ones even.
Writing HP these past few years was a really really cool thing I got to do and got a lot of enjoyment out of, and I'm still really very proud of a lot of the things I have written, which I will leave up.
But. I also have a heart and trans friends and I'm queer myself and I can't write the way I did without wanting to blast this lady through the roof, and I'm just. Not. Loving it anymore?
So while you can never say never bla bla bla it's very unlikely I will finish my unfinished fics. (Other than perhaps the 50 shades of Black since it's already finished. I have to discuss with @veryinnovative to see where they're at in that regard.) (And the Hades/Persephone retelling @aboutnavi and I wrote. Just cuz, I love collabs and that love might be enough).
But I do know how I wanted to finish those fics, the "I hunt for you" one and the "alien" one. I've seen people do this in other fandoms where they kind of spoil the ending and explain what they wanted to do with the story so it "has" an end even though... the writing won't happen. And I'm open to doing that if some of you are interested.
Yeah. It was a riot, though. Met some lovely people here. Still see a lot of them. Really grateful for the experience and the friendships. But ya know, hate is a strong deterrent and JKR is really pushing it and I just don't wanna.
