Time for #andanotherthingwithKKECReads It makes me so angry when I see authors having to chase people down for reviews. If you commit to an author (either directly or via a website) to read and review their book, and you accept the free copy of the book- you owe them the review. Now, I know some authors/publishers have a clause stating if you’re going to rate the book three stars or less to wait until the week after publication, but this is still no excuse. Unless you did not finish the book for what we reason, you still owe the review. The transaction is simple. You agreed to read the book and write a review in exchange for a free advanced copy of the book. I literally have book scheduled throughout the year, and am still accepting books, and I have not missed a publication date. If an author or publisher gives me a copy of a book FOR FREE you can guarantee I will read and write the review. I cannot express how awful it is to see so many authors have to chase people down to get the second half of this transaction. Do not accept a book if you cannot write the review. So many of these authors are indie authors who rely heavily on the reviews of arc readers... so when someone takes a free copy of the book and then disappears, they are basically stealing from the author. Do not be a garbage human. Authors and publishers understand life happens. If you can’t get your review in on time, communicate that. 99.9% of authors/publishers will absolutely understand and extend your review date. Support authors. If you accept a free copy of a book, read and write the review on time. Don’t be garbage. /rant #indieauthors #reviews #thismakesmeangry #books #arcs #freecopy #authorsofinstagram #publishers #exchange #deal #behonest #followthrough #indie #author #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookreviewsofinstagram #kkecreads #katyapproved https://www.instagram.com/p/CNk1_ylL6Va/?igshid=vyw00mi4cq4p
