Matt/Foggy, Hospital AU?

Within a week of Foggy being in the hospital day care center most days, proud of his mom’s new job even if it means his summer vacation is being spent wandering around the smelly hospital, the staff has decided they don’t care if he wanders off as long as it’s just to the pediatrics ward during visiting hours, and Foggy abuses the privilege all the time.
Eight days or so in, he pokes his head into a private room on the ward, where there’s a kid his age with his eyes covered in a bandage sitting bolt upright in bed with his fists clenched. “I’m Foggy Nelson, and I’m going to get you one of the good snacks out of the vending machine,” he decides, and goes to do just that.
“Matt Murdock,” the kid grudgingly says when Foggy returns with chips, and even though Matt winces when the bag rustles, Foggy decides that means they’re going to be best friends.
