There was a previous post of mine about stages of life in the zodiac when it comes to seasons. Here the explanations are the "big picture" and more practical. P.S the quotation mark quotes mentioned were made on the spot so are original!
The first four zodiac signs are the openers of their element and therefore contain the highest form of what that element represents. Mixing this with the "child" stage of the ones in the beginning shows why there is an overconfident yet vague way about these signs:
