So, I originally thought that Dani and Jamie had about 10 years together. In that scene where we find out Flora is 17, that means 9 years have passed, and then you can give them about a year or so before Dani’s self-sacrifice. But, I was curious about when Vermont’s same-sex civil union ruling came into effect—the 90s? And I found this:

July 1, 2000. Jamie says that their union is “now civil” and they’ll marry again when (not if!) they can 🥺❤️. I’m not sure how long after the tub scene is the end, but that means they had at least 13 beautiful years together. And honestly, even that addition of the three extra years—knowing that Jamie has missed Dani for at max 7 years, as opposed to 10—makes me so fucking happy. They rung in the millennium together. They saw the very first bill to legalize same-sex marriage in modern times pass in the Netherlands. Thirteen goddamn years. Over a decade. I wish they had forever, of course I do, but...fucking good for them.
