You sighed and crossed your arms, resting your elbows on your knees as you leaned forward, turning your head to look at your boyfriend. Your boyfriend, who was supposed to be watching the new Tony Stark documentary on the Iron Man suit technology with you, was sleeping on the couch next to you. He was on his side, facing the TV. One hand was tucked under his face while the other was wrapped around his side, legs curled into the fetal position, trying to take up the least amount of room on the cushion. His thin pink lips were parted as he inhaled steadily. You really wanted to watch the documentary with him, but his Spider-Man-ing and advanced schoolwork left him incredibly busy and wiped out. You couldn’t even begin to imagine how stressed he must feel all the time. You reached a hand out and slowly, gently, brushed back a strand of hair that flopped over his forehead. You thought it was adorable and liked his not-quite-long-but-not-quite-short wavy brown locks, but Peter always got frustrated when they didn’t obey his commands to stay plastered to his head.

You really liked Peter; he was the sweetest boyfriend in the whole world and easily the most thoughtful guy you knew. He looked so peaceful when he was asleep. You hated to wake him up, but he would be more comfortable in his bed. When your fingers gently grazed Peter’s forehead, he grunted a little and shifted in his sleep, stretching his legs out to take up more room of the couch. His feet jabbed into the side of your leg and you bit back a startled and slightly pained yelp. You needed to move him to his bed, so he could stretch out peacefully. You slid onto the floor, kneeling in front of Peter. You made sure your face wasn’t directly in front of his, that way you didn’t scare him. You tenderly gripped his shoulder, gently rocking his body back and forth.

“Peter,” You whispered, “You gotta get up. You fell asleep.” Peter grunted again and rolled over, facing the back of the couch, away from you. You huffed and gripped his shoulder tighter. “Peter, you need to wake up.” You shook him a little more violently. No response. You groaned again. Good grief, the boy slept like a log. You hated to resort to such a drastic measure, but it had to be done at this point. You got up and went to your kitchen, grabbing a couple ice cubes from the freezer. The ice bit into the skin of your palm, already melting a little. You crept back into the living room, doing your best to not to giggle out loud. You wanted to video Peter’s reaction, but you knew Peter would do the same to you next time you fell asleep together, so decided not to film it.

You knelt by Peter again, this time gently pulling the back of his shirt. You checked behind you to make sure you had room to move backward quickly once you completed your mission. You took a deep breath and stifled another giggle before dropping both ice cubes down the back of your boyfriend’s shirt. You lurched backwards as Peter yelped and shot up, his arms and legs flailing about as he scrambled off the couch.

“OH MY GOSH,” Peter shrieked. Somehow, he ended up crawling over the back of the couch and fell off the top, landing with a large thud. You couldn’t hold your laughter in anymore and lost it, laughing so hard your stomach hurt and tears were streaming down your face. You brushed away the tears, remnants of the melted ice cube still on your fingers made you gasp a little when your fingers touched your cheeks.

Peter’s disheveled head popped up from behind the couch like a Wack-A-Mole, eyes narrowed at you.

“I cannot believe you just did that,” Peter said, mock disgust and anger. “I was having a perfectly good dream about seeing the world’s longest physical record of the value of pi.” You giggled more and felt a few more tears drop from your eyes.

“I didn’t even know they wrote down the value of pi,” You laughed, trying to get it together. Peter huffed and rolled his eyes, standing up from behind the couch. He shivered and crossed his arms.

“Why did you do that anyway? That was a little rude,” Peter said, sticking out his lower lip in a fake pout. He stifled a yawn as you responded.

“I was trying to wake you up nicely, but it wasn’t working,” You explained, drying the last of your tears and standing up as well. “You fell asleep during the documentary and I was going to try to move you to your bed so you could sleep better.”

Peter’s eyes widened, arms dropping to his side. “Oh my gosh I fell asleep?! Y/N, I am so sorry! I know who much you wanted to watch that documentary with me. Look, I’ll go get a Rockstar or Monster or something so I can stay awake, okay? We’ll finish it tonight, okay? Do you want anything?” Peter spouted out his apology so fast you could barely what he said. Peter turned on his heel and rushed toward his bedroom, where his shoes were.

“Peter, wait,” You protested, following him. You reached Peter’s bedroom while he was sitting on his bed, bent over to tie on his worn-out Keds shoes. His mouth was stretched into a large, loud yawn and he stretched his arms above his head. His shirt rode up a little and you caught a glimpse of his gorgeous abs. “Peter, you don’t have to stay awake if you’re tired. I don’t mind.”

“No, I’m going to stay awake,” Peter argued, dropping his hands to his knees. He sighed, clearly bracing himself to stand up. He rocked backward then forward, using his momentum to aid in him standing up. When he reached his feet, he yawned again, scrubbing his eyes with his fists like a tired toddler. You smiled and let out a little sigh. Peter was easily the cutest person in the whole universe. He hobbled over to the doorway, where you stood. Still rubbing his eyes, he bumped into you. Your arms shot out to grab onto his, stabilizing him. Peter dropped his fists from his eyes and looked at you.

Up close, you could see the dark bags under his eyes, how his eyelids drooped and were having a hard time staying open. His hair was messy, with his waves sticking every which way. He looked completely and utterly exhausted. You felt your heart go out to him, wishing you could restore his energy transform him back into his nerdy, perky self. You ran your hands from his arms up to his neck, gently holding his face in your hands.

“You’re really pretty,” Peter mumbled, staring at you. His eyes were soft with adoration as he admired you. You let a small smile tug on the corners of your lips and tilted your head.

“You need to sleep, Peter,” You gently pulled his head level to your lips and planted a gentle kiss on his jaw. You felt his shudder and his arms wrapped around your waist, holding you close. He nuzzled his face into the side of your neck and purred. You automatically wrapped your arms around his neck, hugging him back.

“Please stay with me, Y/N,” Peter mumbled into your neck, his warm breath sending waves of goosebumps and shivers down your body.

“Okay,” You agreed. You loosened your grip on your boyfriend. “Go lay down in the bedroom.” Peter nodded and trudged to his bed, flopping down onto the mattress. You kneeled in front of him, untying his shoes and slipping them off his feet.

Normally he would protest, insisting you don’t have to worry but he was far gone. He sprawled out on the bed as much as he probably could. There was something about Peter when he slept. It was the only time he could be completely normal. His face was soft and smooth. His precious pink lips came to a slight pout that reminded you of a little boy. Once his shoes were off you moved his legs to be on the bed and he shifted. You went to the dresser to get a sleep t-shirt and some shorts. As soon as you laid down, Peter instantly knew and clinged to you wrapping his arms around your body and snuggling his nose back into his spot at the crook of your neck placing his head on your chest. All you could feel was his skin on yours and your heart racing inside your chest. All you could hear was his breathing and his steady heartbeat. Wrapping your arms around him in return you start stroking his arm. You rub your fingertips lightly up his arm and then back down to his hand. The contrast of his strong muscles under his smooth skin left you mesmerized. His hands are rougher; his knuckles are hard and you know this is because of the work he does while he is Spider-Man. On the other hand, they still have a gentleness to them. Interlacing your fingers with his, you can see all the times he has solved a math problem or conducted a science experiment. You can see all the times he’s written a letter for you, all the times he’s hugged his aunt May, gave his best friend Ned a fist bump, and all the times he has used those same hands to hold you and make sure you know you are worthwhile. You loved those hands. His hands. Hands that belonged to a boy that had the weight of New York City on his shoulders when his only worries should be school related. This boy was so grown up, he had a million responsibilities, but in this moment the ceased to exist. In this moment, all that mattered was the sleepy boy in your arms. The only time you ever saw him completely calm was when he was fast asleep. And in that moment you didn’t mind that he was in deep sleep while you were wide awake because you got to admire him. Taking your hand from his lazy sleep grasp, your slip your fingers from his to bring them to his face. Rubbing his temple you admired his face and it reminded you of the boy Peter Parker had been. Peter still had that childlike innocence in him and that was part of the reason he had such a big heart. Realizing how much you truly loved this boy, you ran your fingers through his soft curls. As you did this he moaned and squeezed you tighter to him. In that moment you also thought about how you were never going to be able to get enough of this boy. For the next few minutes you continued to rub his arm, his hair, and his back to comfort him the best you could in his sleep. In that moment life was simple, and you quickly fell asleep with Peter in your arms feeling completely at peace.
