Unfortunately, the anime adapted Thomas Austin's chapter accurately.
I was hoping they will try to change it a little, so they won't imply spousal abuse from a wife is justified, but nope.
Even worse - in animation Thomas Austin's fear and bodily reactions to stress are more realistic, so you feel them deeper.
The only thing that somewhat makes it justified from story stand-point is that in the end Twilight is a dumbass clueless about what's normal in marriage... but that's rather weak excuse.
Oh, I wanna be restored and I think I'm getting closer every day, but, oh, restoration's such a heavy weight to bear. But all this snow is bound to fall and melt away, so I'm waiting for the season heaven brings: spring.

Thomas Austin - The Valley
From this year’s debut EP Homemade Hiraeths, new music to be released early next year.
By far the most poppy song I've ever written, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The song was written around the original synth riff, so the lyrics weren't as big of a focus as they usually are. The song is about the future and my natural fear of it, but the understanding that I need to humbly accept the place in which I’m put. I find out more about myself at the low points in life. That's an encouragement to not look too far ahead, be happy, and take grace when it comes.
Sometimes a major ecological and historical event can be traced to a single, otherwise unimportant person. Such is the case of Thomas Austin, who brought two dozen European rabbits to his home in Australia in 1859 in order to hunt them for sport. They rabbits escaped, bred like . . . well, rabbits, and decimated the environment. Their unchecked population growth lead to desertification, extinction of an untold number of species, and an environmental problem that persists to this day.
I must say, I’m a little disappointed by how the newest Spy x Family chapter turned out. Specifically - how Thomas Austin’s issues with his wife got addressed.
So it turned out that an Eden teacher - Thomas Austin - developed acute stress disorder symptoms, presumebly due to Red Circus hijacking the school bus. Henderson recommends to him to go see Loid Forger on therapy. Soon Loid says that he conducted enviornmental interviews and based on that he concludes that ASD symptoms started even earlier than the hijacking. Moreover - it turns out that the symptoms were caused by Austin’s wife.
And then we get to this little montage:
When I saw this for the first time, chills went down my spine. Especially the last one sounds heartless and abusive, given that - as far as Mrs. Austin could know - her husband was in danger. And yet all she could say is: “Now that you’re not here grinding your teeth all night, I’m finally getting good night’s sleep.”
This woman is emotionally abusing her husband to the point of him being scared of her and it’s affecting his every day interactions with others. I was really intrigued by how Loid will resolve the issue.
Austin is, of course, surprised by this revelation and everything Loid says (like: “Every person fears different things.”) isn’t half-bad...
Up until this part:
So basically:
He had it comin' He had it comin' He only had himself to blame~~
Of course, a wife has such valid reasons to emotionally abuse her husband as: “He forgot their anniversary.” or: “He leaves socks around.” I get that this can be frustrating in a relationship, but it doesn’t warrant death glares and half of the words she says to him. Remember that he’s afraid of her to the point of ASD.
(And according to Loid’s investigation, Austin “doesn’t participate in housework or childcare”, and yet one of the things his wife says is: “While you’re doing the laundry, go ahead and give that brain of yours a good cleaning too.”)
But look - there’s more:
Rubbing onions to his eyes?! We’re breaching into physical abusive territory. And, once again, the reason for it is petty.
What a let down.
