If theirs one Thomas Horror story I would point to as a Pinnacle of Thomas related horror, it's a fan video called, "Jack & Jill" by tcsfjace.
(Not based on the nursery rhyme of the same name)
It doesn't kill any of the main characters, and it doesn't go overly dark for the sake of being Edgy.
It's an honest, good ol classic Thomas Ghost story that faithfully recaptures the magic of when Thomas Horror is down right.
For those who are interested, the story is that, due to high winds blowing across the viaduct, it causes it to produce a whistling sound that sounds like the whistling of ghost, and the engines capitalize off it by telling ghostly tales about the viaduct.
And no engine loves ghost stories better then Percy.
Soon however, It gets to the little green saddle tank engines smoke box, and he becomes insufferable because of it.
Gordon and Henry the make up a story that frightens the little engine...
But it's from this point, do things REALLY get interesting...
After a set of points fail later that night, Percy is trapped in a small shunting yard near the viaduct.
And after a few false alarms... Something truly frightening happens...
The spectre of an old, seemingly destroyed tender engine, appears just a few yards ahead of Percy.
Only for suddenly, TWO MORE old, Destroyed ghost tender engines appear next to him from both sides!!!!
Percy, Understandably, starts pissing himself in fear at this point, and just as the engine in front of him approaches Percy...
They all vanish... Without a trace...
That's what SOLD this video for me. This story is EXACTLY what I look for in Thomas Horror. An engine is a dick, they get the soot spooked out of them, paranormal ghost engines, it's EXACTLY why classic Thomas worked so well with horror!
And the best part is, those 3 ghost engines, their NEVER explained. Absolutely none of them were in any prior fan videos. No names, no tragic backstory, no cause of death, nothing...
Their completely up to interpretation as to who they were, how they died, and why their tied so closely to Sodor's viaduct.
And if you ask me, they shouldn't be explained. That's what makes this story work. The mystery of these 3 spirits is the most fascinating part of this story, and any explanation would have killed my enjoyment of it!
But Jace left them ambiguous! Just like how classic Thomas did in it's prime!
I highly recommend it for anyone who's a fan of Thomas Horror! It's a must watch!!!
If I were to grade this, from the visuals, to the set dressing, to the story itself, a solid 9 out of 10!
