Eileen had aways wanted a companion of their own, but due to their father having allergies they never got to experience the responsibility of taking care of another being, or the love and bond that formed. But now that they were old enough to live on their own, have a stable job, maybe it was time Eileen was able to fulfill their life time dream of having a kitten as a companion.
Eileen liked the term companion better than pet, it went along with the idea that they were equals and that Eileen did not ‘own’ them, the kitten would still be their own person, or rather feline. They couldn’t keep the smile off their face as they headed into Vighulir, searching for a pet store. Excitement was coursing through their veins and it was hard not to run full speed ahead to make it to their destination even faster. But not to seem like a crazy person, Eileen tried to keep a normal pace walking through the streets of the town.
Once the pet store was located Eileen started to bite at their lip as they made their way inside. They thought they’d make a beeline to the available pets for adoption, but they stopped dead in their tracts so overwhelmed by all the cute animals that were staying in the store. Eileen wanted to take all of them home with them, but deep down they knew that it would be an impossible task and one that would probably hurt all the tiny creatures in the long run. Slowly Eileen started to move towards the animals, looking to see which one they could form a connection to.
It didn’t take long to find a kitten that Eileen immediately clicked with, such large blue eyes and peach fuzz covering their body. They had siamese like coloring, but the lack of hair suggested that they might be something else, but that didn’t matter much to Eileen. They were so cute with their big ears and eyes that seemed too big for their head. And the scruffy tail that swayed behind them was just too adorable.
Taking the kitten out to play with, Eileen and the little one seemed to get along very well, the kitten liked to pounce and then run away, causing Eileen to go into a fit of giggles, especially when their little paws slid on the titled floor. It was definitely a match made in heaven and Eileen couldn’t wait to take them home. But something seemed to catch the little one’s attention because they went bouncing over into the next isle away from Eileen. “Hey there, wait up you!” They said with a laugh getting up to follow the kitten, curious to see what they were chasing after.
