Previously owned by Deirdre Maclellan, the granddaughter of Thomas Cooper Gotch and former wife of occultist Aleister Crowley. Deirdre Maclellan inherited Thomas Cooper Gotch’s house and paintings including this artwork via her mother, Phyllis Marion Gotch, the child subject of many of Gotch’s paintings.
