To be honest, I am in rage whenever some make it difficult for unbelievers to accept and understand plainly the Gospel. Like as if the love of God is conditional and that He requires a lot of things from you before you can come to Him (I mean I know and understand that doctrinally Jesus says that we have to take up our cross daily and follow Him but that's the result right after we're regenerated by the Spirit. I'm talking about Salvation itself.) I mean, c'mon. None of us are perfect and all of us fall short of God's glory and standard. That's why JESUS CAME!!! THAT'S THE ESSENCE OF THE GOSPEL. JESUS CAME NOT TO CONDEMN BUT TO SAVE THE WORLD THROUGH HIM. If we require a lot of things for people before they can come into a relationship with God then I believe we're not acting out in Love and in Truth. Remember where we came from. Paul said,
"I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel -- not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed." - Galatians 1:6-9
"I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for nothing." - Galatians 2:21
"O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?" - Galatians 3:1-3
We are saved by "grace through faith." - Ephesians 6:8-9 and this same grace is the very grace that sanctifies us. We are sanctified as we continue to put our faith not in our good works or anything in us but just as from the very beginning, salvation and sanctification is a work of God. So whatever background you have, wherever you came from, whoever you think you are, no matter what happened to you, no matter what you've done, be encouraged that God's Love for you is overflowing and that you are forgiven and accepted in Christ. Start putting your faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross and continue putting your faith on Him and watch Him change you from the inside out. As one of the famous quotes said, "We don't change to be Loved by God. God loves us that's why we're changed."
