Kirk was bored. Dying of boredom. He hadn’t met anyone in the city that decided to stick around yet, but he wasn’t worried about it for now. He had only been in the city for a few weeks and it wasn’t easy to become friends with someone in such a short time. The Starfleet captain found himself laying across a bench in a quiet park, staring up at the sky.
He would never do this in front of his crew, but they weren’t here now. It was getting dark, the first stars starting to appear in the sky. He bit his bottom lip, remembering what it was like to be in space. How it was like to be the captain of a starship. He missed it all so much. The mere thoughts brought a smile to his lips.
The captain knew that he would get back there someday. It was surely his destiny. He was meant to be up there, looking for new planets, fighting against the ancient evils that rose up and threatened all life forms.
He held up the bb gun that he received when he first arrived, pointing it upwards and making noises that poorly imitated what sounds the blasters would make when they fired. It was childish, he would admit, but it provided him with a sort of entertainment for the time being.
