Hive City had always taken him for a turn, but this was something else entirely.
It was a mountain. No, more than that -- it was a kingdom that stretched around and even within a towering mountain. He wasn’t sure he could come up with anything greater than that. It truly was a sight to behold, like something taken directly from a book of fantasy. Somehow, Josh had awoken to find himself inside the mountain, overlooking the valley that sprawled out before him. What struck him the most, however, were the people that inhabited the place. They were far shorter than humans -- dwarves? he tentatively thought -- though their attire was most regal with many in armour, wielding fearsome weapons and other tools.
He was startled from his observations, however, when he realised that some had taken note of him, pointing at him from afar. Josh couldn’t help but wince, knowing how foreign he must have seemed to them. Not to mention the fact that he had no idea how he’d gotten there to begin with, though that wouldn’t help his cause.
But was it all real? He’d never imagined dreaming -- or even hallucinating -- something this... different. This extravagant and fantastical. Drawing away from the balcony’s edge, he attempted to slip inside the mountain with the hopes of finding an exit of some sort.
It’d be best if he could actually get some answers, but at that point, he found himself primarily concerned with the increasingly alarmed dwarves. He had to get out -- quick.
