I just wanted to thank you for your, well not defense of per se, but your lack of blind hatred toward Thompson. It wasn't pleasant to keep seeing nothing but "this doesn't excuse how he treats Peggy" over and over again after last night's episode. I wasn't quite sure how to put that into words but your tags on that gif set were spot on. So yes, thank you :)
i mean, i'm not trying to excuse the way he's treated peggy (and women in general, we may assume) so far at all, but i do think the fact that he's learning and realizing his mistake is something to be encouraged. no one is born a jerk or a misogynist, it's a behavior that is learnt. and as one meets more people and have more experiences, you learn that your past behavior was wrong and improve yourself accordingly, where's the harm in that? thompson is a flawed individuals who's been deeply affected by the war and battling intense feelings of fear and guilt, but he's also learning to be better, and i just think that should be the point of focus rather than harping on and on about his past actions. everyone deserves another chance :)
