Cream looked down at the flower in her hand. ( It barely resembled one — the middle part was missing, the three petals were shriveled, and were at varying lengths — but who was she to deny what she was told? ) She fidgeted with the stem. ❝ U-um... ❞ She even didn't get a proper word in before her voice cracked.

But nothing was supposed to be wrong with her; nothing had happened.

❝ Mr. Sonic gave it to me, ❞ she answered. Her voice only shook somewhat — a barely noticeable mistake. She lifted her head, beaming. ❝ He said it was a good luck charm. ❞ She forced a more cheerful tone, but it fell a little short at the end. ❝ We could look for some together if you want one! ❞

   it takes everything in the robot's power to not reply with some snarky comment / the fear flooding their system being the only thing keeping them quiet. the duo had managed to get away thanks to a lucky stun, but considering the heavy footsteps quickly approaching their little hiding spot, it seems that luck has run out.

   « I AM NOT STUNNING THAT THING — ! » hissed out as quietly as they can, but it's not like it matters anymore — that thing in question being kolossos, of course. it was only a matter of time.

A GOLDEN LIGHT SHONE BRIGHTLY above the street, bathing what remains of the city below. HIS PRESENCE WAS SUFFOCATING.

With eyes squeezed shut, and an arm wrapped around his abdomen — he ROARED. Thunderous laughter bounced off the walls; a clawed hand traveled up his forehead and ran through his quills. Bright red eyes snapped open, darting around excitedly — HUNTING. HE WANTED TO PLAY WITH HIS REAL PREY.

Then, a specific shade of pink entered his peripheral.

In an instant, personal space was invaded. ❝ THAT'S FUNNY. I didn't take you for a LONER! ❞ Clawed hands gripped the hedgehog's muzzle tightly — pulling her in close. The action could be mistaken for something intimate — IF HE DIDN'T HAVE A PREDATORY LOOK ON HIS FACE. Red spirals swirled with a renewed intensity that could HYPNOTIZE, and a twisted grin curled across the entity's muzzle; razors on clear display.

Then it was replaced with narrowed eyes, and a disgusted snarl — one side of his lips tugged upwards. ❝ You're not her. ❞ IT wasn't even MOBIAN.

Realization quickly dawned on him. ❝ Oh. OH. ❞ A loud bellow of laughter erupted from his throat. He let go of the filth in favour of tightly wrapping his arms around his chest, head tilted back as his body shook with amusement. ❝ OH, THAT'S RICH! ❞ He was back in the thing's face, jabbing a finger into its chest. ❝ WHO MADE YOU? 'Cause it sure is WORKING. I'M PISSED OFF. ❞

To be fair — the echidna saw pink quills as he flew down from Angel Island, and that pink was very close to someone's signature color. Almost exact. With his good mood, of course he'd greet a hedgehog who he originally thought was a friend.

They really did share a lot of similarities though — other than the quills. He recognized those features... as a relic from the past. He could even see Amy's old shirt, which poked out from under the hedgehog's tanktop.

He shook his head. ❝ Well, ❞ Knuckles started again. ❝ Maybe you look like one. ❞

Blaze huffs. The flames that encase her body blow out like a candle, and with it, the heat of battle cools down — as fast as it came. She didn't expect to find immediate trouble after landing in Sonic's world, but she isn't surprised — it always manages to be action-packed.

She takes a moment, scanning her surroundings and listening for any more incoming robots. When she deems it safe, Blaze smiles — excuse her manners — a little due to amusement; perhaps she acted too fast for the eye to comprehend.

She steps through the wreckage. ❝ That was an ambush, ❞ she explains, extending her hand. ❝ Are you alright? ❞
