Due to being adopted into the clan from outside of it, Maija endured discrimination in her youth and bullying from the other kits. You can consider Thornlily a kind of "Good Karen" in the sense that she will come talk to your parents and happily take this to the leader if there are future issues. Oh and she will lecture your kits too. No doubt about it.

Rattleclan she cat, mother of Swiftfoot, mate of Dragoneye. Fierce and passionate warrior. Parents are mildly irrelevant so far because I never bothered to design or think of them :'D has two older cousins who're twins, named Cherry and Rust
Appearance: warm cinnamon/reddish brown fur. Fairly fluffy tail. White hair+eyebrows+eyelashes. Red eyes. Pink nose and pawpads. Miscellaneous scars that are minor enough to not see unless up close
Relationships
Parents: positive, nothing to comment on
Dragoneye: loves him very much but thinks he overreacts too much. Loves him being a big tough guy but loves more to make him flustered and soft. They argue and bicker regularly but it rarely gets serious
Maija: Instantly fell in love with her and was ready to adopt on the spot. Her first kit. Very defensive about her and keeps a close watch on any boys she's around. Had a very hard time when Maija wanted to become a loner as an adult. Tried to visit her often but couldn't find her most times
Swiftfoot: Was born out of a mutual decision. she tried to coach him to be more tough but wasn't dissapointed that he ended up being more of a pacifist. Loves him very much. Was glad to meet Swiftfoot's kit, but sad to outlive him while in the elders' den. She kept her grandkit company before her death
Cherry and Rust: Looked up to them when younger. Often trained together

What was the reasoning for Thornlily receiving her name? (Both in canon and your reasoning!)
Well as for me deciding it as a kiddo, it was simply "It has to be fierce but also beautiful because she's fierce but also beautiful"
As for in story.. Well, not much different. The thorn part is about kittens having sharp needle like Claws that they can't retract yet, and the lily part is for her white hair :)
Rattleclan overall favors names that are a mix of macabre and beautiful. They have their own aesthetic in a way
